Missed booking appointment!

Hi ladies

I stupidly got the time of my booking appointment wrong. They can’t see me for another 2 weeks by which time I will be 13.5 weeks. Im having a private harmony test and nuchal scan anyway but I’m wondering if I’ve missed anything important in terms of blood tests and urine tests. I can get them done privately if necessary I just don’t know what tests to have done. The reason I was particularly interested is because I’m prone to UTIs and also Asian (so I believe Thalasemia can be an increased risk). If anyone has any advice it would be gratefully received. Thanks

Any private GP or midwife will have worked in the NHS so will know what you need to have done don't worry

Thanks! I’ve just looked and the anti natal blood profile is over £600! I was expecting it to be half of that. Does anyone know if it can wait until 13.5 weeks?

I don't think waiting another 2 weeks will make a difference for the bloods. The only time critical thing I'm aware of are the nucheal fold measurements which you have done privately before then anyway.

Obviously if you have any uti symptoms in the meantime you will need to ring GP.

I didn't have a urine sample taken at my booking appointment. First time I gave one was at 16 weeks. They did take bloods to check blood type, syphilis and a few other things though. You'd normally have bloods taken for combined screening at 12w scan but since you're having private harmony done, those will be more accurate anyway. I'd just wait the two weeks and have your booking appointment done then and go to the GP in the mean time if you get an UTI

You can totally wait until 13.5 weeks, provided you currently feel well and have no UTI symptoms. All they do is routine bloods, viral screen, group and hold and a urine dip. None of that is urgent 😊
