So I've had these random red spotty rash (sorry no idea how to explain) appear in the last few weeks. It's covering a larger area than before now.
Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?
I'm 26/27 weeks pregnant. I'm due to see the midwife in the next couple of weeks but not sure if it's something I should see them earlier.

Looks like PUPPS to me. I had that during my first pregnancy. It's super itchy and awful but generally not life threatening to you or the baby. However, please do see a medical professional as it could also be something else that is serious.

Can this cause migraines and cramping xx

SofiaAmes · 21/10/2018 11:01

Not that I know of, for me the extreme itching overwhelmed everything. But Eclampsia is a much more serious complication of pregnancy that does have the symptoms that you are describing. Please get yourself to a doctor ASAP.

Thank you just for the past 2 days i have been in bed with cramping and migraines xx

See I've got no itching, well not where the rash is. Will definitely mention it to the midwife. Only was I can describe it is what my gran used to describe as 'blood spider bites' haha.

Please see a doctor asap. At a minimum call 111 right away.

I had similar looking spots over my torso and arms (none on legs) around 25 weeks which appeared on a weekend. Went to pharmacy who wouldn't get involved so called 111. Out of hours GP gave me antihistamines which knocked me silly, but did little to clear things up.

Didn't get any worse and ones on my arms and neck cleared quicker (guessed as getting air?) At next consultant appointment prescribed me steroid cream but in end didn't need it as were clearing up by then.

GP thought bites of some sort which I doubted as DP had none, I never got more, didn't feel it was bitten at any point and nothing had changed in my environment. Consultant said just a pregnancy thing. All gone now.

Spider angioma. It goes away 6-9 months after birth. The grandma comment helped me figure it out. Nothing to worry about with pregnancy. Wanted to comment in case someone found this picture like I did, in hopes of finding out what it is. Not itchy. (Can be caused by serosis of liver and contraceptives.)

Hello sorry this is an old post but I wondered if your spider angiomas ever went away after pregnancy? I still have mine (though less red) 6 months pp! :( thanks!

I had them with all 5 pregnancies, each pregnancy it got worse and took longer to clear up. Took 6 months to a year depending on how long I nursed. Pregnant now(5th pregnancy) I have them worse then ever! After 6- months to a year though yes, almost all of them cleared up except a few but they became lighter and less noticeable
