PCOS neck whiskers & Pregnancy!

Because of PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome), I have the usual facial 'fuzz', neck whiskers, odd chest hairs and a snail trail (wonderful, right?).

But I'm 9 weeks pregnant and all of that hair seems to be growing more then usual! My neck whiskers have never grown so quickly and I feel like new ones have even sprung up?!

This surprised me as I was expecting less PCOS hair as I would be producing more progesterone not testosterone!

Has anyone else had their PCOS symptoms heighten during pregnancy? I've accepted my fate as the bearded pregnant lady, has anyone else had anything similar?

I don't have pcos but my pregnancy hair growth has been crazy through all my pregnancies.. my tummy gets hairy, eyebrows grow quicker, leg & pubic hair go wild..

I don't have pcos but have the random neck hair situation! I have found mine is worse too. Blaming it on me having a boy as meant to get more hairy with them. Forever trimming and plucking as not sure if I am allowed to keep going to electrolysis when pregnant.

Your hair stays in the growth phase much longer in pregnancy due to estrogen unfortunately!

Yes, I have pcos too. I'm having a boy and blame whiskers on him lol!

I don't have PCOS but since being pregnant I have chin whiskers and belly hair...sigh...

Stargirl90 · 22/10/2018 17:50

No pcos but high testosterone levels before pregnancy and also feeling that the facial hair has got worse! The chin hairs always sprout in the same place every time and so many neck hairs Sad expecting a boy also, not sure if that has anything to do with it? At least we know we aren't alone!
