Hi ladies this is my first time on here but need some advice on some things

I currently have 2 children (2yo boy and a 5month old girl) and I’m terrified I might be pregnant again?! (I’m only 21) my last period was the 11th of last month and there is still no sign of it and it’s now the 19th October, I took a Clearblue early detection pregnancy test 2 days ago which came back negative and then I took another one today which was negative but I keep thinking that it’s wrong? I really don’t want to be pregnant again.. any advice or has anyone gone through something similar? Am I being paranoid? If I’m really not pregnant then what is causing my period to be so late, could it be cancer or PCOS? I’m so scared and worried about everything

Sorry it’s the 20th today not 19th

It could just be a cycle that you haven't ovulated that's quite common apparently. Are you normally regular? Have you had a contraception failure or reason to think you're likely to be pregnant? Stress can make your period late as well.

Mine were all over the place and have only just got back to normal now my daughter is 17 months old. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

WakeUpSlow · 20/10/2018 22:37

It's much more likely to be a late period than cancer or a sudden illness. The negative tests mean you're unlikely to be pregnant. I know it's difficult when you start worrying but try not to panic on this one OP it's massively likely to be nothing to worry about. Are you feeling anxious in general or is it the thought of another pregnancy that has freaked you out?

It’s normal for me to be irregular but not usually this much, and didn’t use contraception as such but did use withdrawal method and I’ve been getting slight cramps for the past few days but no sign of period 😫 I have had 2 negative tests but I’m still worried

I’m just terrified of getting pregnant again because I know I will have no option but to terminate and the thought of a termination makes me feel sick 😢

If you are getting negative tests it is very unlikely that you're pregnant.

The withdrawal method is not a method of contraception. Get it sorted or ask him to use condoms.

Likely to be the after effects of just having given birth - late ovulation which would make you period late by the same number of days. Or an anovulatory cycle which means af will arrive when she pleases.

CountessVonBoobs · 21/10/2018 09:39

Given the negative tests you probably aren't pregnant, but if you don't want another baby you really really need to get yourself on reliable contraception, and withdrawal does not count.

GinIsIn · 21/10/2018 09:39

if you are terrified of getting pregnant then why on earth aren’t you using contraception? Confused

ISpeakJive · 21/10/2018 10:01

Use some contraception for gods sake!

PotteringAlong · 21/10/2018 10:03

If you’re terrified of getting pregnant again you need to be using contraception...

Pull out method simply isn't effective enough.

Get fitted with a copper coil if you don't like condoms or hormonal birth control. It makes periods a bit longer, heavier, and more painful but that usually eases up after the first 6 months.

It's the best birth control method I've used.

I think it is likely that your period simply hasn't returned to normal post baby. Stress can effect it as well.
