Catarrh. Qatar is a place in the UAE Wink

It sounds like you have a cold.

Sisgal · 20/10/2018 16:03

Sorry but colds make everyone feel shit not just those who are pregnant.

Hate to break it to you, but I had a blocked nose (as bad as a cold but no other symptoms) until 20 weeks. I’m now 22 weeks and it’s cleared, but now I have raging heartburn! Mentioned blocked nose to mw as I’d had a couple of nose bleeds too and she said unless you have a severe headache with it nothing to worry about. When we’re pregnant there extra blood flows and all our mucous membranes including nose secreet more liquid. Try keep your fluids up, you can use Vick’s rub or menthol gum to try and clear your passages, or steam inhalation.

Hi lovely I had this last week and mixed with the morning sickness I too was throwing up every time I coughed. I can say it's the worst I've ever felt with a cold, especially being pregnant and not able to take any medications to make yourself feel better. I found a saline spray for the nose helped, but don't use a decongestant. I also ran a hot shower and sat in a steamy bathroom to try and loosen my chest a bit. I had to take my first 2 days off work in a year! I felt awful!!! Hope you feel better soon xxx

I had this for the whole pregnancy,
but the sickness didn't last past 16weeks. Steamy shower/bath was the only temporary relief.

It could be pregnancy rhinitis. I don't think there is much you can do for it.

Ps Qatar is not in the UAE.

I always had cold like symptoms in the first stages of pregnancy - it was a good way to explain the exhaustion! I understand that it is a normal symptom of pregnancy. You do have to check any treatments you use including things like olbas oil etc as some are not recommended in pregnancy.

Sounds like pregnancy rhinitis. I've had this since 6/7 weeks and, unfortunately, I'm now 20 weeks and still have it. A steamy shower helps a little bit but aside from that I've had to put up with it. Joys of pregnancy.....
