Back pain - normal or a cause for concern?

I'm currently 27+4 and this week I've been having pain in my lower and middle back, especially after workdays (I do a desk job). I also have been having some aching in my lower abdomen. I've sort of been assuming that this is normal, as things grow and I spend all my days in a seated position. However, NHS website identifies back pain in second trimester as a possible sign of early labour. Does it have to be accompanied with other symptoms to be a cause for concern? Have others experienced backpain at this stage?

28+3 and went to the osteopath today!

Back pain in pregnancy is completely normal - even if just because of gravity. Your boobs and bump are heavy so your spine has more to support. I have had terrible pain in the middle of my back, connected to growing bump and a slight curve in my spine. It's much worse from sitting than standing.

I don't know about the ache in your abdomen though ...

There are lots of exercises you can do if you YouTube them. Tbh the ones the osteopath showed me today were ones I'd already been doing thanks to YouTube ...

Hope you feel better soon! X

Thanks, that's really reassuring. I'll definitely check out some exercises! Feeling a bit better this morning but exercises sound like a good idea, especially if it gets worse again during the working week.
