Cold when delivering

I am due in 2 weeks and everyone around me including my partner seems to be getting the sniffles and coughs. I know I cant logically avoid everyone and it is cold season...but if myself or my partner were to have a cold when i went into labour...would it have a negative impact on the delivery or risk infection of our little one? We have both had our flu jabs and I am on my vitamins.

I'm a FTM and panicking about everything, so if this is a daft worry I apologise.

Thank you xx

Worrying is totally normal, I was in the same position. When I was in labour with my son, I had the most horrific cold, aches, shivers, sickness, headache, sore throat etc. My son caught it, and although it took a long time for it to leave his system (he was 6 weeks by the time he was well) he wasn't particularly poorly, had a very slight chest wheeze, and an extremely runny nose that got awfully sore from all the wiping. Newborns are hardy little things so try not to stress too much!
