when did you feel movements with an anterior placenta?

18 weeks PG with my first. In my 12 week scan they said my placenta was posterior but in a private gender scan at 16 weeks they said it was anterior...#confused

I swear I have been feeling some tiny movements but I'm thinking it's too early as I wouldn't be able to feel it through the placenta yet surely...?

Probably just gas....

I have an anterior placenta and I'm pretty sure I first felt a little nudge about 5 days ago. I'm 21 weeks today. I wasn't expecting to feel anything yet based on what they told me but spoke to the midwife and she thinks it was definitely the baby. I've had a couple of nudges every day since.

Kay1341 · 18/10/2018 17:54

I felt my first ones at 20 weeks, and daily movements after that.

Hopehope20 · 18/10/2018 18:05

I have anterior...everyone told me I wouldn't feel movement until later....I felt a flutter at 16 weeks and it was unmistakable by 18 weeks. My placenta is across where my belly button is...but I have and still do feel big kicks and movement either above or below that area

Runwayqueen · 18/10/2018 18:07

I started getting flutters at about 21 weeks

minilemonade · 18/10/2018 18:08

I'm 23 weeks now and still only had one strong kick. Everything else is flutters. First noticed them around 21 weeks

SuperVeggie · 18/10/2018 18:09

I started getting very faint flutters from about 19 weeks but they were easy to confuse with gas at that stage, lol. Definite movements from about 21-22 weeks. Proper strong kicks and obvious pattern for movement from about 24 weeks. And I'm someone who was very slim before pregnancy (BMI of 19) and carried no fat on my stomach (fair share on my bum though!) so I expect I'm on the earlier side of average.

From what I've read it's not unusual to feel nothing at all until 24 weeks and no regular pattern until 28 weeks with an anterior placenta.

filthymcnasty · 18/10/2018 18:12

I had this and I didn't feel any flutters until 24 weeks

thefirsttimer · 18/10/2018 18:17

I've got an anterior and felt the first flutters just before 17 weeks. I'm almost 22 weeks now and they're a lot stronger and more regular, although still definitely mostly flutters as opposed to proper kicks.

OpenThatTrapDoor · 18/10/2018 19:01

I have an anterior and was surprised that I started feeling flutters from about 16 weeks. I’m 23 weeks now and some days will feel baby loads, and other days hardly at all so no pattern to them yet.

Lila99 · 18/10/2018 19:01

Around 20/21 weeks

CobaltRose96 · 18/10/2018 19:09

I'm 19+5 and started feeling the first flutters yesterday! Felt a couple more today so I'm pretty sure it's baby.

TimeWaitsForNoWoman · 18/10/2018 19:10

24 weeks for me! The wait for movement felt never-ending. It is such a joy to feel baby now! They became very powerful very quickly.

MonkeyToucher · 18/10/2018 19:12

Bubbles/flutters from 18 weeks and more definite movements for the last week ish (I’m nearly 21 weeks). I think it matters how high your placenta is too- mines quite high and the baby is sitting low so I’m feeling more low down iyswim

1Wanda1 · 18/10/2018 19:14

I have anterior placenta. Felt first flutters at 15 weeks, but this is my third pregnancy and if I didn't already know the feeling, I wouldn't have known what it was. From then till 18 weeks only felt the occasional movement. From 18 weeks it was more regular but still quite mild and by 21 weeks it was more distinctive. So for a first pregnancy, I imagine with anterior placenta you could easily not be sure of movements until after 20 weeks.

M0gg · 18/10/2018 19:16

About 17 weeks

Worieddd · 18/10/2018 20:00

Third pregnancy and my placenta is anterior but to the left. I started feeling the odd movement around 16 weeks but only on my right side.

KilliamCakesfear · 18/10/2018 20:02

16+4 but then not again for at least a week.

LadyFromLondon · 19/10/2018 09:22

I'm nearly 22 weeks and really not felt that much. I feel this kind of wind movement sometimes in the uterus area (mostly at night when i'm watching tv) and I'm guessing that might be movement. But also could be wind!

usernotfound0000 · 19/10/2018 10:31

About 22 weeks. I had worried that I might not feel as much movement but actually, I think this baby has been more active than my DD when I had a normal placenta.

orangejuicer · 19/10/2018 10:40

About 21-22 weeks.

Trixie101 · 19/10/2018 10:54

I had flutters up until 22/23weeks where they then turned into movements i could feel pretty much every day!

Notquiteagandt · 19/10/2018 13:48

I have an anterior first flutters about 13w first proper noticible movements about 16w and full on kicks and a routine week after.

I felt it more at the sides to begin with.

Notquiteagandt · 19/10/2018 13:49

I lost alot of weight due to HG so I suspect thats why I felt it so early.

SelinaMyers · 19/10/2018 13:50

Anterior placenta- felt strong butterflies at 15 weeks.

unicornchaser · 19/10/2018 23:01

It was about 23/24 weeks for me to feel proper baby movement then I think about 28 weeks to feel actual kicks
