Hi all,

My partner and I have booked a private scan for tomorrow (9wk6day). Has anyone else had a scan around this time? If so what could you see?

We had a scan at 6 weeks on the nhs which showed a little bean with a flicker in the middle. How much will it have changed?

Thanks in advance lovelies 💗

Hi, this was my scan at 10 weeks. It is looking down at the baby so we thought he looked like a little Alien!

@Hopehope20 oh wow that's incredible. Much more developed than our little bean was at 6 weeks lol. Hopefully we can get a lovely clear picture like yours. It will also be amazing to compare 10 weeks with 12 when we get it 💗

Yeah, we had scans at 5 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 then 12. It was amazing to see how much it would change each time. The 8 week one was slightly more baby shaped but essentially still a blob...so we were not expecting the 10 week one to looks so much like a baby. Will you come back and show me yours when you get it?! Hope it goes ok

missrose0110 · 18/10/2018 16:18

@Hopehope20 of course! Thank you for sharing yours, it has made me more excited and less nervous. We might actually see something that resembles a human haha. It is incredible isn't it. I never really thought much about how babies develop until I got pregnant. Absolutely amazing.

What we had booked as our 12 week scan turned out to be only 10 weeks. It was surprisingly clear, and we could see the arm moving.

One curious thing that the sonographer pointed out, was that you could see the intestines (temporarily leave the body at that point) almost floating above the baby. Of course you may or may not want to see that!

I had a scan at bang on 9 weeks pregnant in my first pregnancy. Baby looked akin to a little new potato, but with tiny waving limbs. It was awesome.

Wow thank you for all the responses and all the pictures. They're all definite babies rather than boobs aren't they!! Can't wait to get ours tomorrow

Enjoy @missrose0110. It’s a lovely experience. I’ve just had my 20 week scan recently and can’t believe how much she has grown in that time x

missrose0110 · 18/10/2018 22:11

@bubblybrit thank you! I just can't wait for another 2 weeks and everyone to know I'm pregnant. It's getting harder and harder to keep it a secret. I want to share our news and then hopefully it'll sink in lol. Still all feels surreal to me. When did it hit you? X

It took a while for the reality to sink in @missrose0110. I got really excited after the 12 week scan as felt as if a significant milestone had passed plus I got to share the good news. Becomes more and more real when you start to tick off a few boxes - see first signs of your little bump, feel baby kick etc. There is no mistaking my bump now. Got through the ‘is she just a bit plump’ stage to ‘she is definitely pregnant’ stage which is nice xx

bubblybrit · 18/10/2018 22:26

For comparison.....this is her at 20.5 weeks xx

How did you get on @missrose0110?

missrose0110 · 20/10/2018 21:03

@Hopehope20 the girl at the clinic said that the baby was measuring small and didn't give us a picture :( at first I was worried and freaking out about m/c. I've since spoken to a midwife who told me that these private clinics are not medical professionals and are notorious for giving out false information. The midwife said to pretend we never had the scan and carry on unless any bleeding happens. Fingers crossed everything is okay, we don't know what to think :( xx
