Pregnancy test confusion

So I just got my first ever BFP yesterday after trying for almost a year so I'm so happy. I've tested with lots of test but I wanted to use the clear blue digital test with weeks to see how I was progressing.

I've just done a test today 2 days after missed period and it's come out as 3+ I was expecting 1-2 as it's based off conception date so now I'm a little confused my app says I'm 4weeks today so does anyone think this 3+ is correct?

Thank you

Hi, They work off the HCG levels, so could be yours is rising fast, maybe there are two babies?!
The 3+ is from conception rather than 'pregnancy weeks' if that makes sense xx

The 3 plus is equivalent to five weeks, it means 3 weeks since conception. If you're only four weeks from start of last period that's good going though. Twins?!

Total cross post, sorry!

Lostoldusername · 17/10/2018 20:18

That's picking up a lot of HCG. Maybe twins or maybe you are a bit further than you thought.
I have had 1 - 2 wks on those tests both pregnancies and they were taken the day after period missed.

Thanks everyone for replying. I don't have much symptoms at moments apart from cramps which I've had for a few days. I used fertility friend to track and ovulation day was 30th of sept.

Don't really have twins in my family so this would be a shock.

I'm going to get another digital one tomorrow to see if it's the same.

Levels of hCG can vary massively between women even at the same stage of pregnancy. Those tests are just an estimate of how far along you are, not an exact science! Congratulations on your pregnancy but don’t panic about it being twins just yet, there’s a very good chance it’s just a normal, healthy single pregnancy.

Thank you @Darkstar4855 that's really reassuring to hear.

Ive had this with all my pregnancies. All singletons (one mmc later on) - I just make a lot of b-hcg it seems!

I don’t think it’s any predictor of multiples if that’s your worry!

Thanks @SinkyMalinks that's good to hear I hope so! As I just tested again tonight and 3+ again so just hoping for rising hcg :)
