Abnormal heartbeat

Hi everyone. I had my 16 week midwife appointment today and when listening to the heartbeat the midwife was concerned as it was a strange rhythm she'd never heard before. I was sent to the hospital where I got a scan and dr confirmed abnormal heartbeat and I've to go back again in 2 days and i may be referred to another specialist at a different hospital. He said structure of the heart looks ok and speed of the heart rate but of course im still worried, especially as the midwives seemed so worried too!

Does anyone have any experience of this they can share with me? Thanks x

I don’t have any relevant experience but didn’t want to read and run. Sounds reassuring that the structure of the heart was normal, surely structural abnormalities would be the most worrying thing in a foetus? Don’t know much about child health stuff but in adults heart rhythm abnormalities are usually very treatable.

Fingers crossed for you that the next scan goes ok.

Thank you so much for your reply. That was reassuring that the structure of the heart seems ok but still can't help worrying x
