Fundal Measurement - reduced growth

Hi All - I have a growth scan today but want to know the outcomes if anyone else has been in the same position as me here.

I MW led and since 28 weeks I have been measuring 3 weeks ahead. However yesterday, at 34 weeks I was measuring 34 weeks. Lost 3 weeks of growth somewhere.

I know the growth scan later today will provide the information I need but if anyone has 1st hand experiences of reduced growth, would be great to hear.

Thanks

Fundal height measurements are not very accurate. I was measuring ahead then behind then static, growth scans showed my baby was a bit small but no other issues. Her growth was monitored but no other action taken. Good luck for your scan later.

What pp said, it’s not the most accurate way of measuring growth.
With my second I had scans for reduced growth, static growth and increased growth, he was totally fine each time and there were no concerns.

Different people measure bump differently, if baby has changed position it can affect the measurement as well.

Good luck at your scan later

I follow the trend of pp. fundal measurement was low, sent for a scan everything fine. new measurements put onto my growth chart and was told to ignore the previous ones. I believe it’s pretty common and not accurate at all. Good luck

My MW measured me at 36 weeks, said the scary words "static growth" (there was even a reduction in size according to her crappy paper tape measure measurements) and sent me for a scan. Turned out the baby was so big I had to have a diabetes test! Now almost 39 weeks and perplexed. And sceptical about my next MW appointment!

Fingers crossed everything is absolutely fine OP.

I had this - bump measured ahead (by one midwife) and then lower by another. Scan was absolutely fine, baby just under 90th centile, it was just a dodgy measurement. It is scary to wait though, how long have you got till your scan? Smile

Please don't worry.. I had this at my 36w appointment after a whole pregnancy of hitting the 50% line for fundal measurements, being low risk and ha ING midwife led cate throughout my pregnancy.. .. I was put under consultant care and had two growth scans two weeks apart that showed a steadfastly average sized baby and absolutely no concerns at all.. I've now been discharged from consultant care with me and baby having a clear bill of growth related health at 39 weeks xx

Hi all - realise I didn't update. Growth scan showed her being 5.5lb which is on the 50th centile. She was just plotting well above in the clouds somewhere all previously so if my measurements are again "curved" next week then I don't really know. they just said they would assess then! All seemed fine though and as she is so active (all day/night long constant) they seemed happy.

I have been measured by the same midwife each time but I do suffer IBS, so I have an opinion that even pregnant, I bloat on days more than others.
