Feeling less sick second time?

In my first pregnancy I had fairly bad sickness - not HG but vomiting multiple times a day, constant nausea, completely exhausted. IIRC it started about 6 weeks and lasted till 16 or so.

I'm now 6+3 with DC2 and worried because I'm feeling ok! Confused A bit nauseated and off certain foods, lots of indigestion and burping but nowhere near the misery of my first pregnancy. It comes and goes too. Of course, while I'm pleased not to feel awful, and have huge sympathy for those of you who are suffering, I'm now worried the lack of symptoms is because of a problem and that I'm heading for a MC.

Any advice? Anyone else feel less sick in one pregnancy than another? Am I just being paranoid?

I thought the same and was even counting my lucky stars that the sickness wasn't hitting me... until week 7.... then it came on in full force and im now signed off for 4 weeks and pretty much housebound.
I really hope you don't get sick; I have friends who haven't the second time and have had perfectly healthy babies. I know people say sickness is a good sign but I say no sickness is better; it doesn't mean your baby won't be healthy, just that you won't be miserable! Fingers crossed for you x

I was soooo sick with DS1. Felt rubbish until week 16 or so.

With DS2 I had no symptoms except sometimes a bit gaggy. I didn't believe I was even carrying a baby until both scans. Such a difference.

Try to relax and don't compare. The kids are different, and so are the pregnancies.

All the best Thanks

It's a boy!

SockQueen · 16/10/2018 23:33

The last one is a boy! I know girls supposedly make you more sick but maybe I'm an anomaly?

My first was a boy.
I was sick at least once a day, felt sick throughout the day.
11 weeks and 3 days today and I haven't been sick once, I might get an occasional nauseous moment but a deep breath and a sip of water and it goes away.
I've been worried and have posted on here about not feeling as pregnant, you almost want the sickness, it's mad!
I've had a 7 weeks scan and baby was going what it should with a little heartbeat. It's my 12 week scan next week.
I do think every pregnancy is different and we should be happy there's no sickness.

I've had sickness in all my pregnancys all boys so i don't think it makes a diffrence. This time was particularly bad and i eas sick alot. My throat eas even burnt from vomiting bile. 6 weeks is still very early so unfortunately it could still come but i hope it doesn't.

Unfairestofthemall · 17/10/2018 07:07

I was sick at least 3 times a day with DS. With DD I was barely sick at all just felt a bit nauseous. Every pregnancy is different though! Fingers crossed you stay feeling good though

NoUnicornsToSeeHere · 17/10/2018 07:10

I had completely different sickness patterns (including no sickness for my second boy) in all three of my pregnancies.

kpeanut94 · 17/10/2018 09:12

I wouldn't worry!
I've had no symptoms whatsoever and seen baby just two days ago on the screen so everything must be okay xx

I only had sickness with my boys, didn’t have a drop with my girls.

Eeeeek2 · 17/10/2018 09:30

Yep me, I was so freaked by it (not helped by a miscarriage in between) ds I threw up up to 30 times a day for 28 weeks, this time (girl) I've been sick 5 times total I think currently 35 weeks.

Lilbear14 · 17/10/2018 10:09

My first I was sick for two weeks. Not sure on how far gone I was though possibly around 8 weeks. He was a boy.
My second I had no symptoms at all, started to show around 16 weeks and that's it.....a boy.

My third for about two weeks I couldn't sleep at night due to really intense nausea. I've had every symptom you can think of. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, I'm already changing shape. My boobs have almost trippled in size and I am fully aware that I am pregnant 😂😂

All pregnancies are different, I'm just hoping this one gives me a break for a bit before he/she comes out.

I posted almost exactly the same message when I was about 7 weeks. I was worried as I was sure I'd felt worth in my first pregnancy! About a week after I posted, bam, morning sickness hit! I only vomited a couple of times but had terrible headaches and nausea until at least 20 weeks - so in the end it was worse than with my first. First was a boy, this time it's a girl. I'm now 32+4 and all is well. Try not to worry, fingers crossed you don't get sick but it may yet turn up. I did book a private scan when I was around 7 weeks and it definitely gave me reassurance that everything was in the right place. Good luck with your pregnancy! x

Hoppinggreen · 17/10/2018 11:28

With my first pregnancy I threw up at least once a day and lost 2 stones ( girl)
Next one I felt a bit nauseous and went off eating meat but wasn’t too bad (boy)

jaychops · 17/10/2018 12:24

I was sick every day until 18 weeks with my DD, and then on and off afterwards. Now 34 weeks with DS and had zero sickness! Completely opposite pregnancies!
