Pre-eclampsia?

Hi all,

So for the last week I've had awful headaches! Hubby decided to 'google' symptoms and it says I could have pre-eclampsia! I've got ok blood pressure (slightly on the high side) and pain in the ribs ( but only today. I put it down to little munchkin giving me a good kick!). Got some achy hips as well and munchkin was very quiet on Friday and barely kicking at all. I'm seeing the midwife on Saturday and of course will discuss this all with her then, but wondering if I need to do something more immediately? Don't want to panic or rush into anything as I've been a pretty cruisy and relaxed pregnant woman so far but just wanted your advice about whether it would be ok to wait? Hate to rush into an appointment because we've 'googled' the symptoms if that makes sense?! Thanks all x

How many weeks are you? Pre eclampsia can get serious quickly so the honest answer is no, I wouldn't wait. I would call triage and see what they say.

I'm 27 weeks!

Get checked out. Always better to be safe than sorry.

I had pre eclampsia with my DS1. The first 'symptom' I noticed was when I was lying on the sofa one night and my vision just went really blurry. It was scary but I put it down to the baby lying funny!
A week later I went for my usual check up and was immediately packed off to hospital because my blood pressure was much higher than usual. I had visual disturbances after that and periods of just being 'out of it'.
Pre eclampsia can progress at different speeds, so best get yourself checked asap.
