Maternity Allowance Claim

Has anyone recently made a claim for maternity allowance? I sent my form and all my evidence off on 20th September. I recieved a text on the 25th September to say they will send a decision in 6 weeks time... which will be week commencing 5th November. I’m due on 29th October. I’m now left with no income and no way of making any money. I’m struggling. I’ve had to borrow money just to survive, I still need to buy a few baby items. Bills are starting to go unpaid. Does it really take the full 6 weeks before I will find out from DWP? 😣😰

I sent mine off around that time. I've had the same text. I think they move very, very slowly.

There is a number you can call and hurry them up - I did this. I can’t find the number now though !!

I’ll try find the money online and see if giving them a call helps. I’m so worried about money, family are starting to struggle too as there lending me money... I feel so ashamed having to ask them every week.
