Heart palpitations

I'm eleven weeks pregnant and I have been having heart palpitations daily for the last week. Always when I am resting - usually in the evening when I'm watching tv! They are uncomfortable and can make me short of breath.
I didn't have these at all in my first pregnancy, I have been googling as you do and a lot of websites mention this is more common in twin pregnancies..

I have of course got an appointment to see my GP about this next week and I've got my first scan in two weeks, just wondering if anyone else has had this and ended up being pregnant with twins? More from a curiosity point of view than anything!

I really hope it doesn't mean twins haha I was having heart palpitations last night and googled it, most of what I found was to do with the organs being pushed up and the baby needing more blood and heart having to work over time. I am currently 15+4 but have only just found out so haven't had first scan yet, please do t scare me lol

I have had them on and off, I'm 23 weeks is ish and there's definitely only one in there.
I was definitely prone to palpitations before though. If they're making you short of breath it is worth getting them checked.

Thanks for your replies. I am also hoping for just the one baby, hence the curiosity!
Seeing the GP next week so will update. They are making me feel really lousy 🤢

I had them with baby 4. No twins. Had a 24 hour tape just in case but all was fine.

I’ve had them over this past week although I’m unsure whether it’s the pregnancy or whether it was due to having the flu and whooping vaccine done. The short breathless along with palpitations can be a scary can’t they. I rang the midwife triage and they were super helpful so if you feel like it’s getting worse do definately ring hour midwife / community mw number.

I had awful palpitations all the way through my twin pregnancy. I had numerous heart checks but for me I think it was anxiety related.

I’m not pregnant with twins thankfully but i’m 18+4 and my heart has raced for the last few weeks when i’m just sitting watching telly or laying in bed! But this morning I got out of bed and was hit with the worst dizziness I literally nearly fell over and had to catch myself! I didn’t notice if my heart was racing but i’ve been really dizzy today?
Are these things related? Have any of you experienced it alongside the racing heart?!

I had them and was anaemic. It's worth getting your iron checked.
