Never ending mucus plug!

Hi everyone

I hope you can help.

I went for a sweep on Thursday at 40+5. On the Friday night I lost my mucus plug, which was quite big. Maybe around 7cm long and 2cm thick. I then lost more of my plug on Saturday afternoon. It was a lot longer this time, at least 10cm. This morning I woke up to loosing even more of my plug, which wasn’t as long but a lot thicker.

From what I’ve read it seems that the mucus plug is only around 5cm long, which doesn’t seem to add up to what I’ve been experiencing. I know that they can regenerate but can it happen overnight?

I’m basically looking for a bit of reassurance that this is normal and not a sign of anything bad happening. I think hitting the 41 week mark today is really putting me on edge!

Thank you all in advance.

I went into labour at 40+4, had a sweep booked at 40+5 when I was 2cm.

Not sure if it was all plug, but I had masses of the stuff after that. Mine was very bloody, but kind of looked like seaweed or blood clots! I do remember being surprised at the sheer volume of the stuff.
