Bikini to the spa - is it weird?

I'm off to the spa next week, I'm 35 weeks pregnant, is it ridiculous to go in a bikini? It still covers all the bits you would expect it to.
I've looked for maternity swim suits and they are £30 and up, seems a bit of a waste for one afternoon...

Has anyone else been to the spa late in pregnancy? What did you wear?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Not weird at all I don't think anyone will be horrified by the sight of your pregnant belly!

LeeMiller · 14/10/2018 10:22

Totally fine as long as you are comfortable. I'm 33 weeks with a belly button stretched like a pancake and go to the pool/spa in a bikini. Maternity costumes don't generally have enough support up top and like you I don't want to buy something I'll only use a handful of times.

I wore a bikini on holiday at 29-30 weeks. I can’t see why it would be a problem! I got a cheap one in a size bigger than pre-pregnancy and it did the job fine. Enjoy the spa!

I went to a spa for my mums birthday where I wore my bikini all day (with a robe too) I had a bit of a swim and I did feel a bit awkward at first but after a few mins I was fine! Like hell I was paying £30+ for a new swimming costume I'd be wearing once!

Have a lovely time! X

If you can get it on then absolutely go for it!

Aprilislonggone · 14/10/2018 14:37

I went for a proper maternity spa package at about 28 weeks. Took my top off for the mud massage! BlushShe was very professional and I felt very at ease (usually a shy person!)
Make the most of everything offered is my advice!!

I wore my bikini and it was much more comfortable than a maternity swimsuit. Easier for wees and treatments too!

Wolfiefan · 14/10/2018 15:02

If the spa allows people in bikinis then it’s not a problem. As long as you can get it on!
Enjoy.

Well I’m planning on going for a spa weekend at 36w in a bikini....

Enjoy!

TheBitterBoy · 14/10/2018 15:22

Not pregnant, but always wear a bikini or tankini to the spa, much easier for going to the loo!

CarlsRightEye · 14/10/2018 16:39

I used to work in a spa and it's is absolutely fine!
There was a man that used to come in all the time and use the pool, wore trunks so worn and tight you could practically see through them, that is innapropriate haha

Just been swimming and has spa massage last week. I am 34 weeks and wear bikini.

MrsDrambuie · 14/10/2018 17:14

I am 38 weeks and I go swimming every week in my bikini. I had bought a maternity swimsuit from Next but I outgrew it - in order to be tight / supportive enough up top, it was then too tight to go over the bump. As I’m a keen swimmer I bought a maternity bikini from JoJoMaman for £25 but I’m certainly getting my money’s worth and I no longer panic that I’ll get trapped in it Confused like the Next swimsuit.

I do notice quite a few heads turning in my direction as I walk along the poolside but I don’t care/mind - it’s very obvious that I am very pregnant, so what Smile
