Hello mumsnet mummy’s and mums to be.
I have been reading up about the nub theory and skull theory to determine baby’s sex but I’m having difficulty relating these with my own scan pics.
I can’t seem to see a nub on mine.
If anyone could kindly shed some light and help I’d be very grateful!
Scan pics are from 13 weeks and 5days.
Thank you Smile

Hi Hun. Just seen your post on the other thread I’m on. I went to Bubbaview too for my gender scan and for my 4D scan today. They’re fantastic.
My gender scan was actually done at 15+5 and was very very obvious it was a boy. Saying that, baby does have to be in a good position no matter what gestation. I’ve been lucky. I know people that have had there 20 week Scan and not been able to find out because baby was in such an awkward position.
Anyway, I’m struggling with your pics because there really isn’t a clear nub and skull theory doesn’t really seem to be as accurate in my opionion.
But I am gonna guess girl coz I think it looks girly. Not very scientific I’m afraid. But congratulations x x

Hey hun congratulations on your baby boy! 💙 Ahh I see it depends on baby's movements then as to when you can tell the sex. So far at both scans mine has been a complete little wiggly worm, just doesn't stay still at all so I guess it could be difficult to tell.
I definitely will go back for the 4d scan when I'm further along. I'm thinking I might just wait for the gender one with nhs as I have a scan booked with Worthing hospital towards end of November when I'll be about 18weeks.
Thanks for your guess hun! It's funny because we think they look like a boy! I have no idea how people keep it a surprise the whole pregnancy as I'm itching to find out!! Xx

Looks similar to mine at 13 weeks and a bit, which is now a confirmed girl. Again not that scientific sorry but I'm guessing girl 😂

HarrietCole · 17/10/2018 13:38

Congratulations on your girl 💖
Did yours have the rounded shape skull like mine too? I've been reading that apparently that tends to be more of a female trait.

Thanks, very excited! Yep. Here's a photo for reference, from 13 weeks

I can't see the nub sorry Blush but try posting on ingender, they are fantastic at nub theory! Personally, skill theory was opposite for me, my baby boy had a very rounded head shape and my girl less so. I don't think there's much in the skull theory but there's definitely some degree of accuracy in the nub theory!

Good luck Smile

HarrietCole · 18/10/2018 13:27

Ah thanks Becci for your advice I'll pop a post on there.
Yeah it's funny because typically I've read that the rounder shaped skull is more of a feminine trait but I just really think for some reason the baby's face looks more boy like.
