Hi I’m 6 weeks pregnant and today had my first bleed, it was pale pink and only when wiping, then 2 hours later had blood stains in my underwear and passed a nail sized dark red/black spongy clot, I rang the gp who sent me to a&e they said it’s to early to scan so just to rest and keep a check, should I be concerned this is a m/c?

Yes. It's possible it's a miscarriage. Wait a week and take another test. Go to a&e if the bleeding is really heavy (pad an hour) or if the cramps are too painful to stand with paracetamol.

Of course there is often bleeding in pregnancy which is nothing to worry about. But either way, you'll know in a week.

I think it’s normal to have a little bleed early on in pregnancy.. I did and the pregnancy was fine. I was also scanned at 7 weeks so maybe next week they can scan you if you don’t know anything further by then? Good luck! X

I'll just pipe up here and say that I have bled for two weeks now and baby is fine. Lots of bright red blood too I didn't know how it was possible baby was okay! Now 9 weeks and baby is doing fine, I have a subchorionic hemotoma and this was the cause for my bleed.

It's only just started to calm down to a pinkish stain when I wipe. I know bleeding is not considered normal by any means but not all bleeding means the end.

Glad you are okay - this is also reassuring as someone currently waiting for an early scan after some spotting :)
