Hi all

I'm 21 weeks at the moment and still haven't felt my baby move. I can't wait for that butterfly feeling everyone keeps telling me about.

Everything I've read says it happens between 16 and 24 weeks. However, my evil boss keeps banging on about how there is something wrong because I haven't felt anything yet and how I should go get checked out. My 20 week scan was perfectly fine.

Do you think I should be worried?

Xxx

Hi, I think you should try not to worry... everybody is different. If there were any concerns they would have been raised at your 20 week scan. Hopefully by your 25 week midwife appointment you’ve felt some movement... I think it can happen quickly! Xxxxx

I felt movements with my first around 20 weeks i think.

Do you know if your placenta is posterior or anterior? That affects the feeing of movements

Baby160P · 13/10/2018 12:09

I have a anterior placenta and feel movement very low. It turns out although it's anterior it's high anterior. If you have mid anterior placenta it's hard to feel? Maybe ask or check your notes?

UnicornGlitz · 13/10/2018 12:25

Thank you. I'll check my notes and see what they say. My colleagues have told me to ignore my boss, she's a very negative person, but everything is new to me so I can't help wonder xx

This is normal, you will feel it soon enough. FWIW I didn’t really recognise it as a “butterfly” feeling - more like a muscle twitch (like when you get a twitch in your leg) but inside

Jess0989 · 13/10/2018 12:30

Hi, this might seem like a weird thing but I didn’t know where to post it. I think I might be pregnant but my test are coming up negative because I had sex 1.5 weeks ago. Can you just know you are pregnant ? I’m literally so confused

Jess0989 · 13/10/2018 12:32

I know it might seem stupid because it happened a week ago but I don’t know by body just feels different

custardcream5 · 13/10/2018 12:48

Just wanted to say not to worry it's probably
to do with the position of your placenta. I felt
My first DD at around 19 weeks but barely anything more so around 23 weeks. The baby will still be very small at this stage so a lot of their movement you probably won't feel.

I'm 19 weeks pregnant with DD2 and was concerned as your meant to feel your second earlier or so they say but I've felt very small and inconsistent movements and that's all...trying to worry myself stupid and take my own advice Grin

Apparently some woman won't feel anything until 24 weeks - also very normal x

custardcream5 · 13/10/2018 12:49

Trying not too**

UnicornGlitz · 13/10/2018 14:01

Thank you. I'm in that situation which every pregnant woman gets, every one has advice and most believe theirs is the be all and end all. I'll try not to worry and if nothing by my next midwife appointment I'll discuss it with them.

Ps Jess ... I had a feeling I was but I waited until my missed period to test.

@UnicornGlitz sounds like your boss is jealous and bitter!
