I'm 17 weeks and I've been suffering with a sharp/aching pain just under my left butt cheek in my leg, and it feels like it pinches when I bend forward/over - has anyone else had similar? I just had an epsom salt bath and I try and stretch it out but nothing seems to help :(

I had this towards the end of my pregnancy and for a short time afterwards - I think it is a form of sciatica caused by your uterus pressing on the nerves as it grows. Mine resolved itself but I think the GP can also give you exercises to do.

Sounds like sciatica. You can work the nerve pain out a bit by placing a tennis ball between you and the wall and using it to apply pressure to where it hurts. I found sitting on a hot water bottle helped sometimes or going to the physio for a massage on the sore area

Agree with PPs. It’s a form of sciatica often caused by baby leaning on a particular nerve. I’m 38 weeks and I’ve had a couple of instances of this. Very frustrating because it feels like no amount of stretching gave me any relief, but the pain did pass within the day / night. A lie down / rest helped.

Note - I’ve had a very active healthy pregnancy so rest is not something I do very often Grin Just making the point that it’s not necessarily connected to anything in particular.

I had this, sciatica probably. Have you a pregnancy pillow? That helped me sometimes, plus google exercises to do to try and stretch the area.

Sciatica, go see an osteopath.
