First pregnancy advice - feeling overwhelmed!

Hi all, me and my husband found out I'm pregnant last week. It's very early - 5 weeks. We're both excited and have wanted this for so long. Feeling super tired and now getting regular nausea (thankfully no actual sickness as yet!). Due date is around 7th June 2019 Smile

Despite the excitement, I'm feeling really overwhelmed and anxious.

Heard from the midwife today to say my first appointment would be another month away. So I won't be seeing a medical professional before then.

I usually go to the gym 6-8 times per week. I have a personal trainer too. The type of exercise I do is weightlifting, spinning, pilates and yoga. My PT is happy to keep training me (with adjustments) but he wants me to have seen a medical professional first.

I also have joint hypermobility syndrome (JHS) and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). I have severe JHS with all my joints affected and I know this can affect pregnancy. My CFS has been the best its ever been recently. But all of this is also playing on my mind.

To top it off, we wanted to wait the usual 12 weeks to tell parents but because I'm at the gym, I feel like half of the instructors know before my parents. I also go to the gym with my mam most of the time so that is already getting complicated (my PT is also my mam's PT). I mean, I also speak to or see my mam at least once a day!

I suppose I just wanted advice about when people saw a medical professional? If anyone has experience of exercising while pregnant? When you told close family?

(I also think the hormones have hit me massively today and made me feel even more overwhelmed by all of this!)

Thanks all!

Congratulations! It always made me feel strange and nervous that they don't really want to see you at the start!

By the end you're bloody sick of them so enjoy the peace now.

I say that tongue in cheek as I love my midwives and am friends with them now.
