Hi all,

I may be over worrying as this is my first pregnancy and I know all babies are different when it comes to movement but I'm wondering if my baby is moving enough. She was very active in the second trimester, would kick and punch basically all day and night. Now she goes an hour or two without noticeable movement and when she does, it's just a few kicks (which I'll add are in my vaginal area as she's breech, has been for the last two scans and I'm sure every kick I feel, are very low!). The movement seems to have become less about a week ago.
Anyway should I be worried or could this just be down to less room for her to move? If she's still kicking, does this mean I shouldn't bother calling up triage?
I've read somewhere that as long as you feel 10 movements in 2 hours then it shouldn't be nothing to worry about. I'm sure I feel movement but like I said, it's reduced movement from what I previously got use to that I'm concerned about so I don't know.

Hi if you are worried then call the maternity triage number and discuss with them. They won't think you are wasting their time and ultimately no-one on here can tell you what's going on.

My baby did similar in that as she got larger she moved less. She was massive and I am small so there was basically no space for her to move around much in the third trimester. Other people's babies were doing somersaults and you could see arms, legs, elbows flying out.

My movements changed from kicks to more like turns and sweeping motions but if anything got more frequent.

Never ever worry about phoning maternity and going in to be seen. They'll always rather you're safe not sorry.
