Night time wees

I know it's normal to need to wee more often in pregnancy. However, I feel like I am really struggling and wonder what is "normal". I'm 23 weeks and am exhausted because I keep waking up needing a wee. Last night was typical and went like this:

10.30 do wee, go to bed
11pm not asleep yet, need another wee
12.30 wake up
1.30 wake up
2.30 wake up
4.30 wake up
6.30 have to get up to get ready for work.

Every time I wake, I have to wee or I can't get back to sleep. I have older children so am familiar with the idea that this is nature's way of getting you ready for the baby. But honestly I don't remember it being this bad in the other pregnancies. I'm so tired!

I know I’m sick off wee’ing! It’s so annoying and soon as I think off a Wee I need one! Last 2 nights have been better than others, I have cut out drinking tea and try and not drink as much after 7pm. Cutting out caffeine is good

SnowdropFox · 09/10/2018 17:06

Yup, sounds similar to my schedule! Not much fun but just had to get up or if just lie awake.

CobaltRose96 · 09/10/2018 17:26

I'm 18+3 and am not waking up yet, but when I wake up in the morning I'm bursting for the loo, so I'm sure it won't be long before I'm getting up in the night!

OutPinked · 09/10/2018 18:09

It sadly only gets worse. I’m 36 weeks and I’m exhausted for many reasons but the regular night trips to the loo aren’t helping. I’ve tried reducing the amount I drink before bed to no avail. Sometimes I will go for one and about 10/15 mins later be bursting at the seams again.

1Wanda1 · 09/10/2018 19:01

Oh God. I can't bear it! Outpinked I know what you mean - sometimes I just don't even know where the next wee has come from, as I'll do one, drink nothing more, and yet 20 mins later there's another one.

37 weeks and often I am literally just back to sitting or lying down after being to the toilet and I need to get up and go again. Not even 5 mins later.
I've abandoned all hope of sleep now, 3/4 broken hours is my nightly average. But at least I'm not still working so I sympathise heavily for you still being at work!

Same here too. To add to the struggle, I have a bladder condition which means I can’t empty my bladder properly. So even more toilet trips for me.
And like you, I haven’t got to even drink anything and I’m going again. Where does it come from x

katie23913 · 09/10/2018 21:31

This feels like the story of my life haha I keep saying to my boyfriend 'I don't even know where it's coming from'! Every time I wake up I have to go to the loo or there is no chance I'm getting back to sleep. It's approx 3-4 times per night. I have to just get out of bed as soon as I wake up so i can get back to sleep quickly. When I get up in the middle of the night that's when baby starts wriggling too!

hanny24 · 10/10/2018 07:46

Story of my life! I am exactly the same!!! I just don't know where all this wee comes from! Also sometimes I will do one, get up take 10 steps then have to go again because obviously it didn't all come out the first time!!! So now when I go to the toilet I have to move around a bit and actually squeeze the last bit out.

Also I could be laying down and think 'I need a wee' as soon as I stand up my god I literally have 10 seconds to get there! Sometimes I fall into the wall because I've just woken up and am so disorientated but need to go quick!! It's a nightmare! Debating buying adult nappies and I'm only 27!!

MissMini · 12/10/2018 15:32

I’ve been awful needing to get up during the night from about 13 weeks onwards. People keep telling me it will get worse but I’m already up two or three times a night at only 18 weeks 😔. Was worrying but now I’ve read this thread I feel a bit better!

problembottom · 12/10/2018 17:46

I’m 29 weeks and it’s driving me insane. I can go to bed and literally have five wees in five minutes. The second I get back into bed I need another!

mommysharkdodo · 12/10/2018 18:00

Omg I get annoyed now at 10 weeks because I need to get up once every night! I don't look forward to it becoming any more frequent than that 🙈

Celebelly · 12/10/2018 18:43

I'm 23 weeks but not peeing anywhere near as much as that yet. I usually pee at bedtime, then about 5/6am, and then again when I get up at 8 and that's it. You must be knackered! Maybe baby is just in a position that's pressing more on your bladder this time round. Sympathies!

I actually peed more in first trimester for some reason, but I imagine once everything gets more squashed it'll be an issue!
