I feel evil for even posting this..i had the quad blood test at 16 weeks due to baby not behaving for the 12 week scan.
The hospital just called and said the risk has come back at 1 in 42 chance. I have an appointment tomorrow with my partner at the FHU to discuss what options there are for tests, if we want any.
I'm extremely worried. I can't see much online about what tests are offered apart from amino or even decide if I want up risk that.
I'm sure many have been where we are, I just didn't expect it. Does anyone know apart from the amnio what other options there are?
Thanks

Thanku @Treaclepie19 I'm sorry you're having this too. It's like being in limbo. If I can figure out how to PM I will (never done it on here lol) Thankyou Thanks

Hi, I am booked in for amniocentesis after having a 1 in 57 chance of Edwards or Patau. I couldn’t trust a nipt as it is still passed on chance no fact. How did yours go where are you based? I have to wait two weeks I am so anxious. Also what did your 12 week scan show? Xc

Treaclepie19 · 12/10/2018 16:19

I've sent you a message @Jaxtellerswife x

KitKat1985 · 12/10/2018 16:27

I'm sorry you're going through this OP. Try and remember your baby has a 97% chance of not having Downs, so it's still pretty unlikely. I hope you get the test results quickly. Being in limbo waiting for the results must be awful. x

Jaxtellerswife · 12/10/2018 16:30

@Treaclepie19 Thankyou, I am going to work now but I'll gonon the proper website later and reply xx

@CarlaJeffreys sorry to hear that, how long do you have to wait? My little one wouldn't allow anything at all to be seen at the 12 week scan that's why we had to have the quad test that came out with the high risk factor.
I hope your results come back clear, i know you must be so worried

Treaclepie. My DD's measurement was 4.5 and harmony came back fine. Dd was born with no issues.
I know it's not the same for everyone but there can be good news.

Treaclepie19 · 12/10/2018 16:33

@MadeForThis thank you so much for sharing. That's so good to hear.
They really struggled to get the measurement so I'm just hoping it was that.

@Jaxtellerswife no worries, speak soon x

@CarlaJeffreys I'm so sorry you're going through this too. We will likely have an amnio at 16 weeks. I needed to do something for now which is why we went for the NIPT.

CarlaJeffreys · 12/10/2018 18:04

@Jaxtellerswife I have to wait until the 25th October. It’s horrible just feel like everything is on pause.

@Treaclepie19 I understand. It’s horrible isn’t it. How many weeks are you now ?

Treaclepie19 · 12/10/2018 18:33

@CarlaJeffreys I'm 13+3 today. They put me back 6 days so feels like I've gone back in time.
It's just such a lonely time and I feel so stressed/angry/upset/lost.

CarlaJeffreys · 12/10/2018 19:59

@Treaclepie19 I know it is. I feel all of that too it is horrible. When I went in yesterday they were like well the amniocentesis costs a lot more I was like and I don’t care this is 4 people’s life’s could be changed for the worse here we need to know what we are dealing with. The time I will get my results will be around my son’s second Birthday as well so it is just rubbish.

If you need anything let me know. It really helps me to talk to other pregnant mums who are going through this.

Treaclepie19 · 12/10/2018 20:10

@CarlaJeffreys feel free to message me, I've been trying to find some sort of support group and there just doesn't seem to be one.
I phoned ARC and they're great but limited time wise.

What horrible timing for you as well. It's just such a horrible thing to go through. Sending you lots of strength and a hug.

I miscarried before my son and that broke me... this is a whole new level of heartbreak.

Jaxtellerswife · 18/10/2018 19:25

I've had my NIPT results today and she's come back as 1 in 10,000 chance of any problems SmileSmile
Sending good luck to everyone else here or that reads this if they search for advice Thanks

Congrats again @Jaxtellerswife!

My NIPT results also came back low risk, Highly unlikely it's Downs, Edwards or patau.
Still got the amnio Monday and then will have to see what happens with this increased NT!

MadeForThis · 18/10/2018 22:27

Congratulations to you both x

Treaclepie19 · 18/10/2018 22:43

Thank you @MadeForThis :) Did you have to have an amnio with your daughter? And did the increased NT just reduce by itself? Sorry for all the questions. Don't feel you have to answer.

BitchyChuckle · 18/10/2018 22:44

I had a 1/16 chance. I was 30. It was fine

MadeForThis · 22/10/2018 11:41

We didn't have an amnio as we were happy to trust the harmony result.

We did however have to have a couple of more detailed scans focused on the heart as a high nt measurement can be an indication of heart problems. Luckily they were happy that there were no issues so we just forgot about the nt measurement and enjoyed the pregnancy.

Treaclepie19 · 22/10/2018 17:56

Thank you @MadeForThis.
They didn't dp the amnio today either. The NIPT tests only for the main 3 though so I'm a bit nervous. They did say they'll keep checking baby really well and we can always have the amnio later if we want.

Pjhmom · 23/06/2021 04:54

Hi, I hope this message finds someone one here. I'm looking for an update on OP. My test just came back 1 in 41 so I'm a little worried
