Had consultant today, nearly 35 weeks , vitamin 12 injections prescribed, one was given today while there and I was given two more vials to arrange to be given at my doctors by a nurse on Thursday and then Monday , went to doctors but they said there are no appointments that I have to arrange with consultant antenatal clinic to get it done , phoned them and they are saying my doctors have to arrange it .

So left with 2 vials and no one to give me the injection? Any ideas on what I should do?

Thanks!

Have you any nurse friends/neighbours that could do it for you? If you already have the vials it should be no problem. Is it an intramuscular injection or just subcutaneous? If just subcutaneous if you know anyone who has injected themselves eg. diabetics/ women who have done ivf treatment etc they would probably be happy to do it for you. Or you could ask at pharmacy if anyone there would administer for you.

Hi , don't know anybody who would give injections, the leaflet with the vials says the injection should be given into the muscle , there is no needle part with the vials though , will try pharmacy and see what they say! Thanks!

Could you ring a pharmacy - could they do it? Or find a drop in centre?

Antenatal clinic should do it. The GP isn't funded for those appointments. Go to PALS and kick up a stink that the ANC have just dumped this on primary care.
