Posted on here about a week ago as thought I'd started having contractions. Had the cramping on and off all week which was very similar to period pain. Finally had a show this morning around 5am followed by regular contractions every 5 minutes lasting about 30 seconds each but had reduced baby movement. Phoned delivery suit at 7.30am who told me to see how things went over the next couple of hours and to drink plenty to get baby moving. An hour later I had more of a show and more contractions but still not much movement so phoned them again. They told me to go in. They monitored baby movement which was all ok and also monitored the contractions which were then coming every 10 mins. They wouldn't check my cervix to see if I had dialted at all and told me to come home and wait for things to happen naturally. Since being home I feel that everything has slowed down again and am so fed up. Anyone have any advice on how to get things moving or is this going to go on for days/weeks yet?

Anyone?

No real advise, as haven't been there myself (yet!)
But if its starting to kick in everyone suggests being as active as possible, lots of walking, get on a pregnancy ball, currys & nipple stimulation to kick start!

Anything to update since last night?
Good luck!

Been back in today as had strong regular contractions during the night and after they stopped I was left with constant pain. Called midwife and they wanted to assess me again. I am 1cm dilated and on the way home. All a waiting game!

My first labour was like that, I spent a few days in early labour with on and off contractions. My advice would be to make sure your hospital bag is packed, and then try to get as much rest as possible. It could be a while yet and you will need all of your energy when it happens.

In order for your labour to be useful, the contractions need to be regular, to get stronger, and to get closer together , as time goes on. No stops, no coming and going. If they stop, sorry but you are not in true labour yet.

Yes, it's all a waiting game. There isn't much you can do besides resting and keeping hydrated. Good luck !

Hospital bag is packed and ready. I feel like I'm going to be stuck at 1cm forever haha. Keep getting regular contractions that last a couple of hours but as soon as I think I better go in it all stops and baby goes 'nah just teasing you'. Hopefully won't be much longer!

I'm exactly the same I'm 1cm aswell but I get all my pain in my back it comes so bad then after I ring my partner and go to hospital it stops lol! Looks like I'm making it up. Makes me throw up in pain 😂 Come on babies!!! X

I'm in the exact same boat! Solidarity. It's sodding awful. Desperate to get going now. I was making great progress last night. Gah

ER1992 · 08/10/2018 21:05

Exactly the same as both of you, and the pain also has made me sick and doubled over in pain. And then I have to tell myself this won't be a touch on it when things really get going! Fingers crossed for you both that things happen soon

Good luck ladies. Hope it happens for you soon.

Pretty sure I've been in latent labour for the last two weeks so hope it's not too long for me now.

Kt2108 · 11/10/2018 14:19

Any updates? X

BumbleNova · 11/10/2018 14:50

Nope Angry. I had 6 hours of contractions yesterday that built to every minute but then died off again. Absolutely nothing today which is quite a relief tbh. I was so exhausted after 4 days/ nights of contractions. I'm resigned to this being weeks now, not days Sad

Our baby boy Archie was born on Tuesday at 15.59. Ended up needing an emergency c section because he got stuck but he's here safely and we are over the moon
