How many blankets to buy for baby?

I have 2 x Moses blankets, 2 x large blankets & 2 swaddle blankets.
Do I need more?
I have bought 2 grow bags but don't think I'll put baby in these until he's a few weeks old.

Any advice greatly received please..

Sounds good to me. One being used while the other is washed.

I was given loads of blankets by relatives and I only use three. Lol.

Baby sleeps in a Gro-Bag, so I have one in the car, one under the pram and one in the front room for naps.

That sounds fine to me. I bought a similar amount and ended up with thousands of them people gave as gifts

Agree that it’s enough to get started as you’ll probably get given some. Both of mine had reflux so despite having about 10 I never had enough as they were constantly getting covered in milk sick. But hopefully you won’t have the same problem. Are they cellular ones that you’ve got?

We have 12-15 blankets and use them all the time, bed, pram, car seat, rolling on the floor etc etc. That's between a baby and a toddler

I used my blankets all of the time, particularly for floor activities, and when she was younger as she was a winter baby and we have our house freezing.
We had one thin knit one, and two thicker regular knit ones (all home knitted/gift from grandparents), then at 4 months I finally met my sister who made a small thin quilted blanket which was perfect timing as I moved her into her cot then.
Used all of them in rotation and depending on the weather, never needed more despite all the poo explosions and spit up. have maybe one or two extra now (2yrs) but she only ever used blankets for bed, never had a grow bag thing.

I've bought around 12 my daughter has managed to ruin a few threw poo explosion those stains are horrific ! I'm expecting another so buying more

Emmafh3 · 08/10/2018 06:48

The poo is the worst, mine came totally clean after a few washes with regular detergent, but then I found that vanish or the cheap equivalent takes it out sooo much easier x

Glad I've seen this. I've been bought loads as gifts or had them made. Defo happy to see they'll all get their use... although not looking forward to poo explosions 😖

Babyshark2018 · 08/10/2018 12:32

I had loads for gifts so probably have about 6 plus my blankets which we both snuggle in. Got some beautiful ones with her name on and my Grandma knits too Smile

We use the bags at night now (couldn’t in summer as it was boiling) so much easier you don’t have to fiddle about tucking them in.

My advice is loads of blankets and loads of muslins!

Sounds fine. I got bought lots of blankets for DC1 and honestly, only two or three ever got used. I’ve bought three for this baby.
