Pregnancy detection?

Was just wondering if anyone knew how soon a pregnancy test can detect a pregnancy as I've had 3 positive tests and if I am pregnant I either conceived on the 29th September which would make me 8 days pregnant and the test picked it up at 5 days pregnant (I took the test 3 days ago) or I conceived while I was on the implant. My implant was removed on the 26th September 3 days before possible conception.

5 days post ovulation is too early for a pregnancy test. Even 8 days would be unlikely to show a positive.

I would say you definitely conceived on the earlier date.

Ah okay because I was thinking maybe I'm not even pregnant they could just be false-positives?

Like I'd understand if I conceived when I still had my implant and it was a few days until the implant was due to run out but I only had it in for a year

How strong are the positive tests? And what brand? It's definitely possible to conceive on contraception my son is the result of the pill and condoms combined.

First response test and the otber two were boots digital but the problem I have is I can't be pregnant surely because I'm one of those people that can't read the results properly so I take the test out of the plastic to see it better. So on the first response test although it's a strong line it's more than likely an evap line because of me taking it out of the plastic and the boots digital ones were negative but when taken out of the plastic were faintly positive so I'm just assuming they're all evap lines :(

I tested positive 8 days after ovulation and I'm now 22 weeks pregnant

destiny1998 · 07/10/2018 13:31

I made the mistake of taking mine out of the plastic though so it's probably just evap lines for me :(

Digitals always have 2 lines when broken apart.

This website shows stats on pregnancy results by days past ovulation:
www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/

5 days after sex is far too early.

They do advise not having sex for about 5 days before implant removal if not looking to get pregnant, so it could be that some survived from sex within those five days?

Yakadee · 07/10/2018 17:37

Taking them out of the packaging does invalidate the test but if there was a line there before that you wanted to get a better look at then surely it's still a positive? X

I fell pregnant on nexplanon, it's very rare apparently. I'd had my implant in just under 2 years so had another 13-14 months before it was due to be removed

destiny1998 · 07/10/2018 19:36

Yeah there was a line and then I opened it up and saw it properly

Twickerhun · 07/10/2018 19:38

Can you test again tomorrow?

destiny1998 · 07/10/2018 19:38

Gonna buy another test tommorow should I get a first response (normal test) or a clearblue digital?

OP posts:
destiny1998 · 07/10/2018 19:57

Yes I'm gonna test again tommorow can only afford the one test though so unsure of which one to get?

OP posts:
destiny1998 · 07/10/2018 19:58

They're faint but visible and one is a first response test the other two are boots digital but as I said the boots digital came back negative but when I opened it up it had two lines but apparently that's still considered a negative test as the two lines are already there

Get first response. Pink dye tests are much more reliable.

False positives are very rare so if he line was here before you took it apart then you are probably pregnant.

Hope you get the result you want.

destiny1998 · 07/10/2018 20:55

I will do :) thankyou
