No yolk or Embryo just Sac and spotting!

Hi girls

I'm looking for someone to give me some positivity outcomes that have happened to them.
So my last period date was 08.08.18 and took ovulation sticks from then, didn't do them everyday probably once a week and to be honest didn't think they worked.
On the last week of August 2 lines appeared on my Ovu sticks and of course we did the deed then the following day it showed again , and again and again - 5 days straight! My friend then said to take a pregnancy test which then showed I was positive and said 2-3 weeks on clear blue!

So going by the dates I should be over 8 weeks but when I had my early scan (cause I had brown discharge which freaked me out) I decided to get an early scan only to find there was only the sac and no yolk or baby!
In my report she put 16.3mm = gestation 5-6 weeks does this mean i am actually earlier than I thought ?
She told me to come back 10 days and looking online (I know ) I've seen many successful stories that they went back and found a heartbeat after 2 weeks!

So I started spotting and not sure if the vaginal scan triggered it, but I had small tiny clots when wiping and it was dark red.

Now it's the following day I've not seen any blood, I'm scared it could be a blighted ovum

Could I of got my dates wrong ?
Has this happened to anyone?
Also I felt really pregnant last week and now the bump has gotten smaller...

Any positive stories please throw my way as I need to stay positive for yearly 2 weeks but at the same time be prepared for the worse.

I'm going through something similar...
Went for an early private scan last week where they estimated me between 5-6 weeks, I thought I was 6 weeks 4 days at this point. The scan showed a gestational sac and yolk sac and they said I must have miscalculated my dates! Going back tomorrow to hopefully see a baby in there with a heartbeat.

I've worked myself up about it no end, but it's possible that the baby implanted at a later stage!

This happened to me! I thought I was 8 weeks - booked a scan.

I had a large sac - but no 8 week fetus, and no fetal pole - nothing! Was told to come back - went back 2 weeks later and guess what........

I was 8 weeks with identical twins.

So don't lose hope yet! Things in the womb change so drastically in the short few hours so hang on in there! x
