Sweep @ 40 Weeks

I have a sweep with my midwife this afternoon, I had one on Tuesday but my cervix was long and closed so I'm not holding out much hope for today! Has anyone ever been for a sweep, told their cervix was closed and it's somehow still worked?

Also, any tips for things to encourage it to work?

Thanks!

For it to work, your cervix needs to be open at least enough for her to get her finger in. If your cervix is still long and closed it can't work.

Try having sex - the semen contains the hormone Prostin which is used in synthetic form for inductions. Nipple stimulation is also useful - do it a few times a day .

Good luck !
