Pregnancy after a prem

Hi all,

We aren't here just yet, but have always wanted a small age gap so wanted to hear some experiences.

DD was born at 34 weeks. We had issues with reduced movements from around 31 weeks, at 34 weeks a high umbilical pressure was discovered and she had stopped growing. We were strongly advised to be induced that day. The induction went Pete tong and we ended up with and EMCS and DD was born at 34 weeks weighing just over 4lb.

Just wanted to hear of any experiences with a subsequent pregnancy after having a prem. How closely monitored can you expect to be? Were you encouraged into VBAC/ELCS? Any other advice that you would give 😊

I'm currently pregnant after my little boy came at 27 weeks via emergency cesarean due to iugr and pre eclampsia. I'm only 12+4 at the moment so nothing out of the ordinary yet, I see the consultant next week and they'll be able to tell me what extras I'll need. So far I'm on aspirin daily, but I'm expecting extra scans and more midwife appointments.

I had twin boys who came unexpectedly at 32 weeks, so very quickly I didn't have time for any pain relief (I'm only saying that to give you an indication of what a surprise it was for them to be 8 weeks early) -

I'm currently 40 weeks with my second pregnancy and have been kept as 'high dependency' despite it being a 'normal pregnancy' with regular growth scans throughout due to my last premature labour. Hopefully everything goes well for you x

How often were your extra scans if you don't mind me asking

If you're talking to me then from 18 weeks I had them every 2 weeks, until 30 weeks when I agreed I was happy to have them every 4 weeks as there were no issues.
I've just had my little girl tonight at 39+6 weighing a solid 8lb 😄 hope everything goes well for you both x
