Weird period smell (TMI)

Hi everyone. Sorry if this is TMI (though I did warn you!)
I'm 6+1 today and had nothing unusual so far. When I went to the loo today I noticed a smell like I get when I am about to get AF or during AF. Keep rushing to the loo to check I'm not bleeding now.
I've had no spotting or pain. The odd very mild cramp like period pain every now and then but that is apparently normal.
Is this change in smell a usual thing or should I be concerned?
I don't have my booking in appointment until 29th October so haven't seen anyone yet (GP not bothered - just booked with midwife straight away).

Your sense of smell is more sensitive in the first trimester so it's probably nothing to worry about! The first few weeks is a tough time cause your just sitting waiting to hear everything is okay... try not to stress yourself to much about it! All is fine aslong as there's no blood or serious cramping! You'll probably get a damp feeling with there being more mucus that's creating the plug... don't worry and try stay positive x

Thanks @babystripes - keep trying to tell myself not to stress. What will be will be and there is very little I can do one way or the other except wait.

Yes I'd say a combination of heightened sense of smell and hormones changing so causing different.... er... odours shall we say. Very much doubt it's anything to worry about.
