No yolk sac, will I MC?

Hello everyone

Sorry if this is a stupid question but this is my first child so really don't know what to expect!

I had some very light spotting at what I thought was 6 weeks based on LMP. I was referred to my local EPU for an early scan as I had a previous MC at 7 weeks in Feb. They did a TV scan and found a thickened uterine lining and gestational sac but no yolk sac. Also they dated it to 4 weeks as I have irregular periods and could have ovulated later than I thought I had.

They told me to come back again in 2 weeks for a second scan where they would assess if the pregnancy is "viable". I am totally paranoid now and finding this waiting around really difficult esp after the Feb MC.

I still have symptoms - sore boobs, tiredness, mild nausea - but nothing too terrible. I'm trying to reassure myself that everything is fine and 4 weeks is just too early to see a yolk sac, but was wondering if anyone else has had this experience?

At 4 weeks you may be able to see the gestational sack but it would be a tiny dot. Even at 6 weeks, what you can see can vary from person to person.

Try not to worry, what you're describing is not uncommon at 4 weeks.

Good luck
