Hi all... again! Lots of me atm! Sorry, lots of questions!

When I was 12 weeks I saw the midwife and she told me about the two jabs, both a flu whooping cough. She told me to book my whooping cough for the next avaliable slot (i’m Only 17 weeks now i’m booked in for the 16th Oct I will be 18+6) however, she told me not to bother with the flu jab yet?

Are the dates right for my whooping cough jab and should I book my flu jab anyway as it’s advertised all through the pharmacy and doctors surgery at the moment? Also will these make me ill?

Whooping cough jab is from 16 weeks, so that’s fine.

I would get your flu jab now if you’re going to get it. For me, it seems daft to wait until we’re more into flu season to get it!

I’ve had no ill effects from either. A slightly sore arm with both, and I was a bit drowsy after the flu jab x

I had both of mine yesterday. I am 26 weeks. The only reason my midwife said to delay flu jab was that I was 16 weeks during summer, so to wait until the right season. Absolutely no side effects from flu jab and whooping cough jab just had a dull ache today in top of arm, just a bit like someone has punched it hard or something! But really nothing to worry about

My MW said that they were rolling out the flu vaccines across the country when I saw her a couple of weeks ago and that it wasn't available everywhere yet. When I went in to see her today they had arrived in my surgery and I was told to book it. So it could be she told you to hold off on that as it wasn't available in your area yet.

I'm unsure about Whooping Cough timing, but I think it has to be before 32 weeks if I am remembering correctly??

As to feeling ill, I felt a bit run down and had a tender arm after the whooping cough. But nothing major at all. Can't report on the flu jab just yet!

I just paid(not pregnant) to have my flu jab today, when I had it when pregnant with my first I was only about a month gone because of when I got pregnant, seemed odd to wait around. My arm is fine, the vaccine isn’t a live one so you shouldn’t feel ill after. I can remember a bruised feeling on my arm for a couple of days after whooping cough, but wasn’t ill :)

I’m having both of mine done at the same time tomorrow. As long as your area has it in (which most places do by October) then you might aswell have it x
