Anyone else finding time going SO slowly?!

I'm 23+4 but it feels like I have been pregnant FOREVER. Time is going so slowly and every week is just dragging by. I think what makes things worse is that I'm still so far from the end - full term still seems miles off, if I was closer to the end then at least that would give me something to focus on!

I've got 11.5 weeks left at work and it is busy so time should be flying by but it's not. Trying to distract myself by getting prepared for baby, choosing pram and cot etc, but don't know if this is making me focus more on the pregnancy and then it seems to drag more IYSWIM?

Anyone else in the same boat? And any tips for making the time pass quickly?

Urgh yes! And I’m only 11 weeks. Have horrible sickness which I didn’t have last time. I try and find anything to distract myself. Is this your first?

lovetherisingsun · 03/10/2018 20:20

Oh gawd, every single pregnancy, it CRAWLED by. I hated it. You have my sympathies Flowers

SuperVeggie · 03/10/2018 20:29

Yep it's my first. I don't know how people manage being pregnant when there are other DCs to look after, although that might at least distract me a bit! The sickness bit is horrible isn't it, fortunately mine went away around the end of the first trimester but each day just dragged by.

yes a crazy toddler is a good distraction!

userblah · 03/10/2018 20:36

I've got to be honest here but I think pregnancy and the first year of having a baby drags. Everyone always says how quick it goes .....NO IT BLOOOOOODDDDYYY DOESNT! X

brokenharbour · 03/10/2018 20:40

Oh god yeah. They should do a study on it. It's because you can't drink to pass the time I reckon 🤔

brokenharbour · 03/10/2018 20:41

I'm sure I've had four months to go for the last two months!

SuperVeggie · 03/10/2018 20:43

@brokenharbour a gin would undoubtedly help! Grin

What can I/we do to make this go quicker? I'm seriously considering taking up crochet which is a bad sign since I'm shite at all things crafty.

I did a cross stitch last pregnancy! Now I have a three year old so don't have the luxury of time for such things 😊 I think I will feel better in a week when I get to 24 weeks. And actually the last month or so did go quite quickly last time as I was enjoying not being at work.

brokenharbour · 03/10/2018 20:53

I've just remembered I also took up making rubbish jewellery

beccii161016 · 03/10/2018 21:41

YES! currently 23+1 with DC2 and I thought having a toddler to look after would make it fly by. WRONG. Grin

LBNM19 · 03/10/2018 22:22

Yes!!! I seriously feel like I've been pregnant forever. 32 weeks now and I feel hopeless some days. I found out in March. Feels like a lifetime ago. This is baby number 4 and I feel awful for my other kids as I'm always tired.

SuperVeggie · 03/10/2018 22:43

Massive respect to you ladies who are managing with toddlers etc to look after! I’ve been so tired, don’t know how you do it. Can just about get myself fed and dressed in the mornings let alone other humans too!

I found out in May and that still seems forever ago. I’m hoping that by the third trimester I will feel like I’m on the home straight but it sounds like maybe not! Confused

Feel you! 25 weeks today and it's going sooooo slow. Saw a friend a few days ago for the first time in weeks and she was like "wow, look at you, it's going by so quickly", my response was similar to this emoji Envy it damn well isn't haha

mummyofgirls2 · 04/10/2018 11:33

7 weeks to go for me and I cannot wait any longer its gone so slow but also quickly as I do have a toddler to run about after! I'm just so tired of being pregnant and not being able to do normal things such as tie my shoes Blush

Markygirl1995 · 04/10/2018 11:57

1 week and 5 days left for me and I'm getting very impatient now!

moonlight1705 · 04/10/2018 12:00

I'm 23 + 1 as well and similar to you all, it feels as if all we've done lately is talk about baby stuff and when to get things but knowing its not here until January is making me feel very impatient.

OutPinked · 04/10/2018 12:11

No, I wish it would go a bit slower Grin. We bought and moved into a new house when I was 30 weeks so I’ve had a lot to focus on with that. I’m a teacher so I took my mat leave from the end of the summer holidays. We have also moved towns as well as houses so lots going on... I’m 35+4 but having an ELCS on the 29th October so feeling the pressure to get everything sorted before then.

mumofmunchkin · 04/10/2018 16:04

I felt like this my first pregnancy. I'm 26 weeks pregnant with number three now, and worrying about and running after the other two are distracting me enough that time seems to be ramping along at a fair old rate at the moment. I keep sitting down and wondering why I have such bad indigestion, then realising it's a baby kicking Grin

dancingbee · 04/10/2018 16:10

I'm 27 weeks and time is going soooo slowly. Every week feels like a month has passed! Can't believe I have another 8 weeks of work as I'm totally disinterested now and losing concentration (not like me) and the days are dragging. Am far too inpatient for pregnancy!

MsHopey · 04/10/2018 18:20

My first pregnancy was the slowest 9 months of my life.
DH agrees. It was like time was going backwards!
On week 10 of pregnancy number 2 now and time isn't going super fast but I'm a SAHM to a 14mo so with looking after him and not having to go to dreaded work it is going faster than last time.

SuperVeggie · 05/10/2018 16:03

I think having lots of other things to do does probably help to distract you (and exhaust you!) so maybe I need to find more to fill the rest of my time. I think the second trimester is also a weird time, where you feel like you're right in the middle and the light at the end of the tunnel is miles away!

@dancingbee I'm totally with you about work. I have 11 weeks left now (finishing just before Xmas) and I'm really struggling to concentrate, keep making loads of mistakes in emails etc as well which is really not like me!

I'm 38+2 and feel like I have been pregnant forever too. 9 days left before my planned section. I don't mean to wish the days away but I just want it to hurry up now! Feeling massive and tired. Smile

Athers666 · 05/10/2018 19:16

I'm 30 weeks tomorrow and I feel like time has stopped. Have another 8 weeks of work left as well. Feels like I'm climbing a mountain!
