Normal to be so sleepy in 3rd trimester?

I read all the time that you get your energy back in the third trimester...This has been the complete opposite for me! I've had 2 short naps today already and am fighting myself to not go for another until bed tonight.

I have been having insomnia each night, wide awake for about 2-3 hours which is probably what's causing my sleepiness during the day.

Any suggestions on how to curb this tiredness?

Perfectly normal ! :) ... I swear that the insomnia through the night is nature's way of getting you used to the wake ups ! And do believe this is why I didn't struggle with the lack of sleep as I was so used to it after waking for 3 hours a night lol
3rd trimester is definitely the hardest for the sleep , and how uncomfortable and round you feel and are !
I am afraid I have no remedy advice but would suggest taking your naps in the day if you can just to keep your energy up and say that I think although annoying it does have positives :) xx

I think energy back is the second trimester, not the third! Sorry!

I nap for Atleast 2 hours nearly every day and I'm 38 weeks pregnant but clearly these naps are interrupting your sleeping pattern so I would avoid napping then by bed time you should be knackered and fall straight to sleep

36 weeks and have has insomnia through the 3rd trimester of both my pregnancies. Waking up hourly with bladder pressure and restless legs and regularly wide awake at around 3am for a couple of hours for No reason at all! Getting through a lot of books on my kindle! Am hoping it mirrors my last time though as I think it was really good sleep deprivation training and I found I was actually getting MORE sleep with a newborn than I was towards the end of pregnancy. It's mental torture though!!
