I know you're not supposed to lay on your back later in pregnancy, I'm now 27+5 and was wondering if it's safe to lay on your back in the bath? As it's supposed to relieve pressure?x

Think flat on your back is the issue so you'll be OK in the bath.

its fine.

The only reason they advise not to sleep on your back is because the weight of the baby could lay on vital veins causing mum to get dizzy etc. Being in the bath you're not completely flat and also the fact you're in water will take the weight off the baby from your spine.

Don't worry too much about the laying on your back thing, its new information that our mothers werent told to watch out for, so try take it with a pinch of salt.

You aren't lay flat in a bath so it's not an issue

Go for it. Enjoy your bath!

As PP have said, no issue with the position you’re laying in. Do watch the water temperature though, you don’t want to get too hot.

It’s fine. I had 3 baths while in labour with DD1!

Baths are fine, but you do need to watch the temperature! I love a scalding hot bath but you shouldn't have too hot a bath while pregnant. They say not so hot that your skin goes red, your body temp rises too much or you get sweaty.

But within those limits then enjoy your soothing baths!!
