Dry hands... boy/girl

Lighthearted - I know it’s all old wives tales!

So about 7 weeks ago, I suddenly developed very dry skin on my hands which seems to be impossible to treat. I’ve since found out I’m pregnant, 9+3. I wondered if the dry hands might be caused by pregnancy hormones, Google told me that some people believe dry hands is a sign of a boy (while others believe girl!)

So, just for fun, did anyone else have dry hands during pregnancy and did you have a boy or a girl?

I'm having a boy, no dry hands over here so I'll go with it being a sign for a girl ;)

Well, in three pregnancies which all resulted in boys I never had dry hands, so on that very scientific bit of evidence I reckon you are having a girl

Well if you would like another old wife’s take to test here’s a good one 😬 pee in a tub and mix a teaspoon of baking powder into it... if it fizzes it’s a boy, if it does nothing it’s a girl.
A couple of my friends have done it and results were accurate. All a bit of fun of course but I’m defo gone try it when am a bit further on c

I've not heard of that one before but my hands are dry and I'm having a girl.

My hands were super dry and I had a girl.

Haven't heard this one but I do have dry hands and am having a girl.

Never had dry hands. Have two girls and am 36 weeks with a boy.

My hands were very dry, I developed dermatitis and I had a boy. The old wives tales are a bit of fun but they really don't mean anything. They have a 50/50 chance of being correct anyway.

Ooh so lots of “evidence” of dry hands suggesting a girl, but a few curveballs thrown in!

I have dry hands and lips could this be an early pregnancy sign?

@JLG19 I've never ever had dry skin, I have oily skin normally, yet currently, my skin is soo dry it's painful over my whole body!! I'm 31 weeks pregnant with a girl :)

(But also work in the NHS so might have something to do with washing & gel-ing hands constantly )
