12 week scan an terrified

I have my 12 week scan today at 9.30. I lost my 1st baby at 21 weeks so i have been anxoous since day 1 with this pregnancy. I yad a bad dream about it last night and now i am terrified to go

Hi Laura, I lost my baby at 11 weeks and found out at my 12 week scan, so may have some understanding of your fears, I’d feel the same. The only thing I can think to say to you is, you know you have to go. Deep breathes. Cry if you need to. Tell them you’re anxious when you get there. Good luck chick Flowers

I absolutely second pp, the the sonographer how nervous you are. I burst into tears at my 12 week scan as I'd had bad news before.

I have a job interview today and was pretty nervous but reading your post made me remember how nervous I was whilst I was pregnant.

A dream is just a dream, you've got this OP. It's a brand new pregnancy and the stats are on your side. Wishing you all the luck in the world and hope to hear back later of your good news. Keep us updated x

I've also got my 12 week scan today. I lost my first baby at 23 weeks so can completely understand how you're feeling. With my second baby (my dd), I used to absolutely dread the scans. My only advice is to try and put yourself in your happy place beforehand. Maybe think of a beloved pet or your safe place, like your bedroom. And remember it'll be over in 5 minutes then back home. Also like pp said if it's really bad beforehand let them know and they'll make sure they take extra care to reassure you during the scan. Sending lots of positive thoughts and hope it goes quick and well for you. Xx

Also I know it's controversial but I have a Doppler and that seems to help me before I go in for a scan as I can hear baby moving around and heartbeat. Maybe get one of those just to give you a little reassurance. Xx

@Starlive23 all good thanks! 13 weeks tomorrow and all looking good thank god. Very nearly had a panic attack before I went in though!
