Signs of labour starting?

I'm 37+4 weeks. Yesterday i had a constant period type pain on my back all day. Wasn't too painful but enough for me to keep mentioning it my husband that things felt different. Went to bed as normal about 10pm and woke up at 2am with bad period like craps around the front which kept coming every 10 to 15 mins. Didn't sleep sleep a wink. I was then sick around 6am but went back to bed and have managed to get a few hours sleep since. Have now woken up again and the cramps seem to have settled but still have the dull back pain. False alarm or a sign of things starting? I'm not sure when I'm supposed to call delivery suite etc is it too soon or do I call and see what they say?

I'd ring your maternity assessment unit they will monitor you xx

I've just phoned them. They've told me to keep calm and stay at home and see what happens throughout the day. If the contractions start up again and get to 1 every 8 to 10 mins then to call again

Things still seem settled just got period type pain in my back at the moment. But the cramping has disappeared for now just had a few twinges but nothing like it was during the night. This is my first time so it's difficult to know what's what

If the cramps come back I'd ring again. It might just be braxton hicks I had it last week xx

ER1992 · 01/10/2018 11:42

Yea they said to call back if they are 1 every 8 mins and then they'll get me to go to access me etc. Think it was possibly Braxton hicks and my body getting ready

I know everyone says when you know, you’ll
KNOW. But it’s 100% true.

With my first i had BH which increased and started to become uncomfortable in the last month. The night I went into labour they were spot on with timing and next thing I know my back sounded like it clicked (it was my waters popping) and then I knew 😂 my contractions went instantly to 3 minutes apart and then down to 2 minutes. I was in labour only 4 hours. He was born at 38 weeks.

With my second I had A LOT of false alarms.
I had BH/tightenings accompanied with pain, I would get them ALL night but I just knew it wasn’t the real deal.
I would go the whole night without sleep.
I would have to stop everything when they happened, I couldn’t talk or move, it was mad.. I had ALL the signs labour was near.. upset stomach, cramps, real tightenings, vomiting, etc I ended up going 5 days over due and being induced down to movement but I thought no2 was going to come weeks before this! I remember being monitored at 31 weeks with real contractions but then they just stopped 🤷🏼‍♀️
It’s your body getting ready, labour still might not happen (or it could!)
It’s so unpredictable 😂 definitely time every one.. I did this for weeks.. but they could eventually be the real deal 💕

Having pains again today but doesn't feel like it's contracting. More of a constant pain that is very uncomfortable and low down

How are you today OP?
If the pain is constant (unless it's pelvis girdle pain or something along those lines?) I'd want to get it checked out. Have you seen midwife or dr?
