Hi all,

Guess I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and it not gone to miscarry (even though I know in my heart all signs point to this)

I have had bad period style cramps all week and about 3-4 days ago experienced on off bleeding which was red but not super heavy. I went to the hospital out of hours last night as the bleeding had started again. They tested my urine and confirmed the pregnancy and said that I had a possible uti. The gynaecologist examined me but he was useless and said the bleeding was not too severe but never said anything about the uti or if my cervix was open or closed. My notes say threatened miscarriage but his assistant did say they have to put that with any bleeding in early pregnancy. They booked me in for a scan mon (tomorrow). Anyway, today the bleeding got a lotttt heavier and I am passing tissue like substance (about the size of a 50p and I’ve passed around 3 of these). I phoned the emergency number they gave me but they said if I came in today they do not have the trained staff there to scan me, and that I am better sticking to my appt tomorrow. I guess I am just hoping there is someone on here who can give me a glimmer of hope from a similar experience???? Sad

This is my third pregnancy although would be 2nd child as my 2nd preg was terminated (for various reasons at the time but a decision I deeply deeply regret)... can’t help thinking because of this I’ve ruined my chances of having future children and carrying a healthy pregnancy Sad

Any input would be greatly appreciated whilst I sit in this god awful limbo land Sad

Sorry I can't give you any advice (never experienced this) although I must say I feel that if this was happening to me I would be planning on getting the worse news :( I really hope and pray you have some positive news tomorrow and your baby is healthy. Sending you lots of hugs and kisses! Fingers crossed for you xxxx

Buggerbrexit · 30/09/2018 23:23

I can’t help, but you haven’t ruined your chances because of your termination Flowers I hope tomorrow goes well.

LBNM19 · 30/09/2018 23:25

I've experienced very heavy bleeding with clots in 2 out of 4 of my pregnancys. Both we're caused by heamtomas. I hope everything goes well tomorrow. Xx

thunderandsunshine01 · 30/09/2018 23:25

Thanks for the response jodaisy1. I have mentally prepared myself for what they will say tomorrow - I guess I am finding it hard to grieve this without the doctor confirmation I need Sad

I will keep updated

I had quite heavy bleeding with my last two pregnancies and all was ok. I know it could go either way but hope you get good news tomorrow x

shuthefrontdoor · 30/09/2018 23:28

I had this with my second pregnancy. I passed a few big blood clots. I expected the worse at the scan and they just said it was a haematoma. (Sack of old blood) x

jodaisy1 · 30/09/2018 23:31

Ohhh i hope that's what it is! How scary! Xx

thunderandsunshine01 · 30/09/2018 23:31

For those that had haematoma’s... did you also pass tissue like stuff? I’m feeling that is probably the worst sign for me. My preg with my daughter 6 yrs ago was complication free so this is v odd to me Sad

I bled really heavily at 6 weeks, clots and grey tissue stuff. We all thought I’d miscarried including hospital staff so was sent home to let nature take its course.
Two weeks later I was given a scan to make sure nothing was left inside and amazingly there was a baby still!
She’s 16 years old now!

thunderandsunshine01 · 30/09/2018 23:57

Mellowmelly, did they ever give you a loss reason for the bleed??

These stories are keeping me open minded!

@thunderandsunshine01
They explained that some women can have low HCG levels and this can cause bleeds or that perhaps I hadn’t had a ‘proper’ clear out of the womb with my last period before I fell pregnant and that I was merely shedding some very old lining etc..
I remember bleeding like that for about 4 days and losing this grey tissue matter and thinking this is undoubtedly a miscarriage.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you.

LBNM19 · 01/10/2018 09:29

Yes I past big clots. The first time it happened I convinced myself that I miscarried but all was fine i bled for weeks with both of the heamtomas. X

Hi all, just an update for those that are following. Not good news for me, scan showed I’d passed baby in the bleeding SadSadSad

So sorry for you ThanksThanks

Ellasshitholekitchenpjpiigp · 01/10/2018 17:06

I know of several people who have gone on to have a miscarriage after a termination, myself included and I’ve since gone on to have 3 children with straight forward pregnancies and no more miscarriages. Hope this is the same for you OP

Just an update for anyone who sees. After having the scan I mentioned above at 6 weeks where I was given the nod that baby had already been passed... this was wrong! I went back 5 weeks after the confirmed miscarriage as pg tests were still coming back positive. Thought maybe it was some retained tissue too small to pick up on the scan but I was wrong. Baby was there but was ectopic!!!! How it was not picked up on the original scan I do not know. I have now had emergency surgery to remove my right Fallopian tube. Feel very very let down by my healthcare providers for not picking this up on the original scan ☹️ Had that been the case I would still have both my tubes today.

Oh my goodness @Thunder! What a monumental and dangerous fuck up on their part. So sorry you’ve had to go through this - what an utter crock of shit.

I’d seriously consider putting a complaint in, it should’ve been routinely checked at your first scan.
