I believe I am nearly 6 weeks pregnant
I had a bleed on the 21st Aug (one day heavy and 2 days light/brown)
If this was implantation then I may be 9/10weeks (last period 22nd July)

I am due to go away on a city break at the end of October..flight is 2hrs away. If I am 6 weeks then I will be approx 9 weeks. Not sure how safe flying is/the pressure? I have read mix reviews...please help!

Will be seeing my doc this week to discuss further & may go for an early scan but I read about early scans causing misscarriage Confused

My midwife wasn't concerned about travelling at all. She did recommend compression stockings though.

I travelled to Mauritius at 10 weeks and all was fine.

You might find that your eating habits are out of sync with your usual tastes and you might be suffering from nausea/sickness etc. I was quite lucky that I didn't suffer from too much sickness but I did get car sick 🤢

HerSymphonyAndSong · 30/09/2018 15:52

the baby will be absolutely fine. You may feel rotten however, so plan to take snacks etc or whatever you need to get you through the flight

LittleKitty1985 · 30/09/2018 16:47

There's no risk to the baby, but you may not enjoy the trip. I went to Malta around that time and it wasn't a great holiday, I was v tired, dizzy, nauseous and grumpy. I suggest you don't plan to do too much.

I went to USA at 21 weeks and back at 23. Very hectic holiday as well. All is fine and u am 27 weeks now. Get compression stockings (Boots), drink loads of water and walk round approx every half hour

Flying is perfectly safe, it’s just a question of how you feel. I was very nauseous and tired at that stage so wouldn’t have wanted to travel.

Early scans are also perfectly safe and do not cause any harm to the pregnancy.

I went away at 10 weeks. Baby was fine, no problems at all with flying. Morning sickness was another matter entirely. I didn’t enjoy the trip and spent most of it in bed because I felt so hideous. Urgh.

That said, I have had morning sickness with each pregnancy so I would have still felt shite even if I was at home. At least I got to feel shite in a nice place!

GreenMeerkat · 30/09/2018 18:21

I've travelled at 10,13 and 21 weeks and been fine each time. It's just the sickness at 10 weeks that was an issue but would have been if I'd been at home too.

I traveled loads when I was pregnant...up until I was 6 months along. You will be fine.
