Chances of having another MMC? 6 weeks Preg and Worried!

Hi all,

I need some reassurance/advice please....
I had a MMC at 12 weeks last Feb, baby had stopped growing at around 8 - 9 weeks but they couldn't be exact. Fast forward TTC for 18 months and i am now around 6 weeks pregnant but so scared of having another MMC. We caught on my last cycle of clomid (next step was IVF) so i feel like this is my last chance! I know MC rates are 1 in 4 but what are the chances of me having another MMC? Is there anything i can do/take to prevent one? I have a scan booked in for 16th Oct and it cant come round quick enough! Thanks for reading x

So sorry for your loss and congratulations on your pregnancy. I also suffered a MMC at 12 weeks, back in April. It was my first pregnancy. We started trying again almost right away and I fell pregnant again in June. I was absolutely terrified and worried constantly about history repeating itself.

Needless to say, I'm now 17 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and everything seems to be going well so far! I am still terrified, but now I worry more about her being unwell (I've got my 20 week scan in October and the thought fills me with dread) or stillbirth.

From what I've read, two miscarriages (especially two MMCs) are quite uncommon. This is a totally new pregnancy, so there is no reason why this one won't be successful! I wish you all the luck in the world

I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant for the 3rd time this year. Lost at 7 weeks in Jan, mmc in June at 14 weeks baby died at 9. So I'm praying I'm third time lucky. I think miscarriages in a row can be common but missed ones not so much. I went to the epu on Friday who were amazing, they scanned me and have booked me in for next Wednesday when I'll be 8+6, so that's my milestone for now. I haven't even arranged my booking in with midwife because I'm too anxious. Fingers crossed all will be ok but reach out for support if you need it xx
