Anyone else balloon at the end?

All the way through my pregnancy I've been told 'wow you're tiny'. I've hit 34 weeks and have ballooned. Belly has grown enormous and fundal height has spiked massively (even though growth scan shows everything is absolutely fine).

Stretch marks galore!

Anyone else find they didn't get a big bump gradually but instead just got huge in the last 5-8 weeks?

Hi, yeah I had exactly the same thing. I was tiny tfor most of the pregnancy then suddenly at about 35 weeks I got massive, practically overnight! The pictures are 33 weeks and 35 weeks!

I did! I found out after that I had excess water so not sure whether or not that had something to do with it but I definitely remember popping out a lot more at 30 weeks

WeeklyWarrior · 28/09/2018 08:53

@MissKatyKat still looks like a lovely neat little bump! I feel absolutely huge!

I don't feel like I've ballooned (33 weeks) but the stretch marks seem to have doubled over night, just when I thought I was managing to get away with only a few!

Italianshark · 28/09/2018 09:53

Definitely. People keep telling me now at 32 weeks that "oo you've really popped out" - and the few stretch marks I've gained definitely warrant that.

Anyone who said "steady weight gain is the key to no stretch marks" is a twat. Because I had no control over this "pop" Grin

Just under 35 weeks. If I go overdue, I'm terrified to think what size I'm going to be in 7 weeks!!!

I mean it is a pretty enormous bump... Confused

@Italianshark right! I don't seem to have gained weight anywhere other than my bump but baby grows at the pace it wants to! Grin

That's quite the bump!!

I was told that around 34/36 weeks ish (I clearly wasn't paying enough attention yesterday!) the baby starts to pack on about 0.5lb a week, so I would say it's not unusual for you to be suddenly getting bigger if you are having a growth spurt :)

It's a gorgeous bump though!

WeeklyWarrior · 28/09/2018 10:07

Thanks @Stephisaur - it's bloody enormous!! I can hardly walk Confused

Exactly what happened to me. Had HG so was convinced I’d have a neat little bump. Then boom - in the pictures of me in early labour I look like a space hopper has landed on my and pinned me to the floor 😂

sittingonacornflake · 28/09/2018 10:35

OP what a blinking gorgeous bump you've got! So jealous - I just spread when pregnant - never really got a nice bump Sad

My friend was a few weeks behind me. I’ve got a great photo of us both at around 6/7 months where I look huge and she had a tiny tennis ball shaped bump. 6 weeks later she was far bigger than I was. It was astonishing really. I was really shocked how different it was and have no idea where the hell the baby was hiding before that.
