Second timers - did you go into labour before 40 weeks?

DS1 was born at 38 weeks following spontaneous labour.

I’ve just hit 30 weeks with baby 2 and am now thinking whether it’s likely she’ll arrive before her due date too. If you were ‘early’ with baby 1, were subsequent pregnancies the same length?

Slight panic has set in as I’ve done absolutely nothing to prepare for her arrival! Poor child doesn’t even have a vest of her own.

No, I went exactly 6 days over with DC1 & DC2.

Nope, first was on time, second and third both 9 days over

Nope. 40+ weeks all 3.
But I definitely thought I’d be earlier with DCs 2 and 3.
I’d imagine your 2nd will arrive around 38 weeks. Be ready.
We tend to have a similar pattern with our deliveries- not always but usually.

DS was born at 38+3 - was spontaneous

DD was born at 40+4 - those last two weeks felt very long indeed

Miranda - this is my fear! 10 weeks feels like a really long time and the uncertainty is so annoying

DD1 was 40+5
DD2 was 41 (I was sure she'd be early, she was way low from week 30!)

All three of mine were born at 40+3 which is weird, I know.

Both on Thursday funny enough, DD2 labour was very very fast too. Ive been advised to have a home birth if there's a third (well jokingly advised but no doubt they would actually advise it).

Both were very fast, my documented labour time (active labour) is 1hr for both I'm pregnant with number 3 and already worried about what it will be like trying to make it to the hospital lol.

For me DS2 came earlier than DS1 but many don't follow that pattern. Babies come when they are good and ready, and so it wouldn't surprise me if this time I went over
