I'm just interested- those whom have found out their gender and know the heart rate.

Is the old wives tale true or not?!

(Boys under 140 and girls over 140)

My baby's heartrate has been consistently over 140 whenever measured and she is a girl. It's probably right about 50% of the time ;-)

The only reliable way to tell is when they're born (and even then I got it wrong once Blush)

Stargirl90 · 27/09/2018 14:03

I had an early scan at 8 ish weeks and heart rate was 170, turned out to be a little boy! I was well and truly convinced it was a girl before my 20wk scan

OP it is an old wives tale. My baby's heart rate was consistently under 140 every time someone bothered to measure and her sex was not known until she was born. I know with adults there is a genetic element involved with how fast your heart beats.

Baby160P · 27/09/2018 15:36

Oh man I guess I'll just have to be patient for another week 😂
