How far along are you to have a fetus in miscarriage

I know this maybe upsetting to some people but I’ve wanted to know for years.
When I was young I didn’t know I was pregnant and had a miscarriage. I never went to the hospital or doctors. The only reason I knew it was a miscarriage rather than a very heavy period is that there was a fetus. It was about the size of a fifty pence.

I always wondered how far I was along and why I had a fetus when most people don’t.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, it must have been so scary when you didn’t even know you were pregnant.

This gives the average length of a foetus at different stages of pregnancy. I would estimate that a 50p coin is around 2.5 - 3cm so you were probably around 9 to 10 weeks pregnant.

I'm so sorry you went through such a horrible experience, more so if you never felt able to talk about it.

I've had a few miscarriages and the ones before 8 weeks were just like really, really heavy periods, but I had one at about 11 weeks and there was definitely a foetus. Not something you ever really want to see, to be honest.

I'd say alot of people don't realise it's there because they prefer not to look.

Sorry to hear this happened to you at a young age - no matter how far along you are it's a horrible experience.

I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks & another at 11 weeks - planned pregnancies - cramping & flooding blood with both - admitted to hospital - nurse checked for foetus the first time & I had a D&C with the second.
