How long is it before you can feel the baby move on the OUTSIDE?? I imagine it has a bearing on how much body fat you are carrying around your tummy before you got pg, but i'm just wondering how long it's going to be before my DP can feel the baby kicking. He so wants to feel baby kick, and so do i!! All i've felt so far is just bubbles and cant wait for stronger movements/kicks!

I think with ds1 I felt him move at 17 weeks (the bubble thing), but dh couldn't feel anything until about 21 weeks. At about 30 weeks you could see him moving around from a distance - strange bulges suddenly coming out of the bump. I found that rather disconcerting.

Hi RG, I am 18 weeks and have been feeling kicks for a while now, DH felt it slightly last night and the kids felt it today, this is my 4th pregnancy though, and am very slight build.

dal21 · 11/06/2007 20:42

Hiya - The first time I knew that DH could feel the baby kick was when he said to me the baby just kicked and that was without me prompting 'did you feel that?'. I was about 23 1/2 weeks at that stage.
One lesson I learnt - if the baby is asleep, dont wake it to start kicking for daddy. I did that the other night before going to sleep and after 10/ 20 mins DH went to sleep. I on the other hand had the worst nights sleep as the little one kicked the living daylights out of me for the next few hours - revenge for waking it i am sure!

Hmmm ok so it could be another couple of weeks or so yet for poor DP! I'm of the large persuasion so they'd have to be big kicks or DP would have to dig deep to find my tummy!!!

I am now 28 weeks and i first felt kicks/bubbles at about 15 weeks.

DH felt kicks at about 20/21 weeks. Although he does ask whether it hurts when he feels a realy big kick.

This one is breech at the moment and my bump goes a funny shape because it sticks its bum out so i get a hard lump to one side.

RGPargy · 12/06/2007 11:05

I've felt lots of bubbles etc and last night when i was poking my fingers into my belly, i'm SURE i felt the bubbles on my fingers?? Guaranteed tho i couldn't get my DP to feel it later

With the way this pg has flown past so far, waiting another four weeks will seem like four days!

I'm 26 weeks today, felt first flurries of movements at 16 weeks, and first proper kicks around 20 weeks. Dh has never had the patience to keep his hand on my belly to wait for kicks as LO is psychic and stops kicking as soon as his dad's hand is there!! I felt the kicks from the outside myself at around 22 weeks, actually I started really trying to feel them because during my 20 week scan (which was actually at 22 weeks) I was really hungry and my baby was jumping around ("feed me mummy!!!") and I could actually see my abdomen jumping around which really made me laugh!

RGPargy · 12/06/2007 14:30

I can see it now - me with my hands dug deep into my tummy trying to feel the LO moving on the outside........

I;ve been feeling movement from about 13 weeks but DH felt a kick for the first time last week at 19 weeks. But then I'm still a fat porker from my last pregnancy
